How I Meta Tagged Your Mother...
Hey Guys,
There's a lot of CRAP being posted in this forum these days. It's kind of sad to see here on BN, but I just hope you all know who you're looking at when you're taking advice. Chances are if someone is getting flamed for the content they post, it deserves a little research. That said, here's todays article.
My name is Shane Hunter, I am an Alpha Networker - and I specialize in San Diego Internet Marketing.
1. The Title
3. Keywords
1. The keyword Title is the clickable link in Google that takes you to a website. This should include your keyword once, but should also have a call to action. ie: if your keyword is "Better Networking", then "Click here for Better Networking Tips" would be a decent choice.
2. The Description is the descriptive text under the clickable link. Depending on the amount of characters/words in your description you should include your keyword 1-2 times.
3. Keywords no longer matter to Google, but they still matter in other search engines! Do not keyword stuff, at maximum you want 3-5 keywords, separated by a comma. Any more than this, and you will delve into keyword stuffing territory which will harm you (even in Google) - so there's no sense in that.
To write any meta tag, that must be between the <head> and </head> tags on your page within the coding HTML. This is under appearance-edit in wordpress, or in code view in dreamweaver
1. To write a title tag, is simple
<title>This is my super sweet title</title>
2.
<meta name="description" content="Your description goes here" />
3.
<meta name="keywords" content="keyword 1, keyword 2, keyword 3" />
Hope this helps to get you guys started... Next article: Geo-tagging and the quick way to target locally! =)
