How to Become a Link Request Expert. 6 Tips to Get You Started
As you probably know 91% of SEO revolves around creating back links to your site and most importantly one way back links.
Even if you have a hard time creating one way back links let me tell you something: they don't have to cost you money and secondly they don't have to be transformed into a link exchange in order to get them in the first place.
In the upcoming lines I'll draw some tested methods to building quality back links to your business website without a lot of hassle and exclusively from private websites.
Before getting your hands on a quality one way back link you have to initiate a personal relationship with the other webmaster and prove your unselfish intentions.
Spamming is generally conducted through automation, namely software that searches linking opportunities and send sterile link requests. I don't imply never to use this kind of link searching programs but resume their usage to researching only.
Once you've spotted link opportunity go ahead and take an inventory of that source, see what's the webmaster interested in and then structure a list of benefits he will enjoy by linking to your content. Find and exploit context - that's the name of the game.
One thing to keep in mind is to not expect webmasters to be altruistic in rendering a free link.
Here are some great "knocks at the door" for initiating contact through email:
- asking for a second view on one of your content pieces;
- pointing out other great content sources to further enhance their website;
- apply for a guest post;
- showing yourself interested in interviewing them;
- pointing out malfunctions on their site;
- contribute with indication for building a more user friendly website.
Places to look for relevant websites to build a link on are forums, popular blogs and even offline events.
When initiating contact through email, don't use an email address with the same domain as the site requesting a link for.
To even stand a chance for your email to be read, sound and feel as sharp as possible. Present benefits first and after you made yourself heard, only then expand the discussion to areas of your direct interest.
Once a feedback was acquired don't let the discussion slowly fade away. Maintain the interaction with permanent replies and in case of a dead end , light it up with questions you know your future partner would craft a competent answer.
Oh, and if you don't find any luck with emails I suggest picking up your phone and talk to the man.
