How to Further Enhance your Blog’s Natural SEO Capabilities

If you want quick site indexing, there is no better choice then a blog-type website.

But as always, there is room for improvement. So how can we build a more search engine efficient blog? Here are the basic points you must cover:

1. Search Engine friendly Site Structure

The main feature a website, especially blogs, must possess is rapid access to content for both visitors and SEs.

This is done by making all your content pages available with a minimum click through rate from the blog's home page.

Half of the battle is won simply by getting visitors to read your stuff. Then you must seek to prolong their attention span by referencing additional related content with links scattered in the text body.

Just as important, be sure to install the "related posts" plugin to redirect readers towards other pieces of content, once they finished reading the post.

With a coherent internal linking structure your site gains overall floatability in organic listings and also enjoys more appointed trust from the search engine thanks to its enhanced accessibility.

Have your blog categorized around top money keywords. As it gains authority it will eventually rank for representative terms whether they're money keywords or subjects for great informational content that generates leads and prospects on an ongoing basis.

However, be sure not to overlap the category pages with tag pages.  For instance; if you tag something "dog training" don't include it on your "dog training" category. Keep your categories to a minimum but also compact and laser focused.

2. Link Out to Related Blogs and Build Backlinks

A proven way of increasing authority and trust with the SEs is not to be cheap with linking out to relevant content to yours. Let's face it; you can't possibly know or cover it all.

Google doesn't encourage website isolation just for the sake of preserving PageRank.

And if you were to reference related sites do so with dofollow links. Nofollow links, although still theoretically valid and active, are disregarded by some search engines like Yahoo and MSN and even Google - for experimental periods of time.

Blog commenting, guest posting and massive article submission is a god place to start creating back links of your own. Also supplement them with some directory submissions. Note that the lower the acceptance rate the valuable the link is for your blog's link network.

3. Watch Out for Duplicate Content

Internal duplicate content has stopped being a thing to worry about especially with the development of a wide range of SEO plugins that handle much of the optimization.

So, productive blogging demands as your top priorities: 1. creating quality posts and 2. systematically build links as a mean of promotion in web's social environment and ensuring good rankings in the SEs. For Wordpress blogs I use "All in One SEO" plugin.

Off site dupe content, entertained by content scrappers, can be counteracted and even made it generate some collateral free back links, by simply using absolute linking (vs. relative linking) when referring past content within the text body. This way references remain active even after content was scrapped.

4. Generate XML Sitemaps

An XML sitemap is a list of URLs for all of your indexed pages and tag names that basically tells Google when your blog receives new content. This is a great asset compared to static websites where you have to wait in line until SEs visit it.
