The Right Way to Do Keyword Research for Internet Marketing Success
Fellow Entrepreneurs,
The Internet hasn't just made it easier for entrepreneurs to open a business.
With online search tools, it's easier than ever for our customers to find us.
One of the things I stress to new people over and over again is that doing business over the Internet means you're not tied to a local community – and a local community's economy – any longer.
Marketing online means that your potential customer base is the entire English-speaking world.
But how do you make sure that all of your potential customers will have an easy time finding you?
The answer is keyword research.
“Keywords” are words or phrases that your prospects are most likely to use when they do an Internet search for your type of product or service. You use keywords to boost your marketing business's rankings in Google and other popular search engines.
Of course, you also want to make sure that you are using keywords in your marketing that are most likely to attract buyers to your site, not just people who happen to be surfing the Internet for no particular reason.
Here are a few easy tips to use to do just that:
- First, exactly what words do you use to describe your product line or service?
- Next – what words are your most likely customers going to use when they're searching the Internet for products and services like yours?
- This is very important. You can't just assume that your prospects are viewing your products and services through the same eyes you are. You're an expert in your field. In most cases, your prospects won't be. You can't use industry jargon as your keywords if you're going to market effectively.
"So, instead of just going with the keywords you've thought of, ask your friends, family, colleagues what words they would use. Then search your competitor's websites and see what words they're using to market themselves." - Ryan Nelson
- Your next step is to search for synonyms of those words – Thesaurus.com is a great place to look.
- Now you need to use keyword analytics tools like Google's keyword suggestion tool, Overture, or WordTracker. These Internet services will tell you how competitive your keywords are – in other words, how much they're already being use
- Don't forget to include phrases that include your keywords, like “How to do Internet Marketing,” or “marketing on the Internet.”
Keyword research can seem complicated at first. But so did learning how to drive.
I bet you're not even using two hands for that anymore unless you're driving a manual.
If you need to, contract with an expert in the field and have that person show you how to refine your keyword research until you feel confident going to market with what you have. It’s never a bad idea to consult a professional; it’s your money, your business. Don’t take any chances or opt to learn the hard way if you don’t have to.
Remember, keyword research is literally the key to getting your MLM Internet business the notice it deserves!

Google PPC
The google tool is great for finding quality and profitable keywords, but it is not very accurate on targeting the competitive nature of the keywords. Target words & phrases that you can reach top 10 positions.... that isn't always the most profitable. Alway split test search results you will get many different results with diff. software programs.
