A Story for Posterity...

Reading a book by Vernon Howard on Psycho Pictography, the art of using imagination and Mind Pictures for Prosperity and Success! I sat back, and thought of my own little story, and visualized every chapter. See if I do a good job in activating your imagination too!

There was a new Kingdom in some far away land that promised a room full of gold for every citizen who would come to live there. After all, this was a fairly new Kingdom, and to grow and develop it needed many warm bodies to bring resources into the coffers, and to build a huge castle complete with draw bridge, moat, and gold plated towers.

It was decided by the King and his Minions that the actual payment of rooms of gold could be paid to a select few, enough to give an impression that there would be gold for all, but in reality, it was a clever scheme to get warm bodies to build the kingdom, to grow food and bring in valuable resources. They hoped that they could fool their prospects long enough to create the Kingdom, and then try to hold on to it after the promise of shiny gold for all wore off. The worse case scenario would afford the King and his Minions to live well off for awhile and they had tunnels built underground that they could escape, in the event there were ever an angry mob with pitchforks and torches.

The hype was tremendous, and word spread far and wide. There were bulletins posted on Oak trees and bridge posts. Criers on horseback spread the news in far off cities and villages. Word of mouth advertising passed through friends, families and their distant relatives. The cobblestone streets sang under the wheels of coaches, wagons, and buggies. Like a train of ants, the roads filled with warm bodies moving trance like in line in the direction of the Magic Kingdom.

People collected and carried all their assets to build their dreams and create a new life.  It was asked of all new citizens to leave their valuables in the Kingdoms coffers, for safe keeping. Valuables were traded for Tools, and since the Kingdom was in pre-launch, it was explained that the gold would be soon to follow. Meanwhile presentations were done, meetings were held, and every one encouraged to get busy, and build their peace of the pie.

The castle was built and it was glorious, when people from far off places crested the mountain pass, the golden towers sparkled from miles away. This went on for many months and the kingdom grew exponentially.  Finally, the whole idea came to a screeching halt, as people ran out of resources, grew hungry and discouraged, began to share with their neighbors the reality of the shining golden Kingdom.

Mobs were formed, but the King and his few got away with the spoils, they had escaped at the first sign of trouble. A ship was ready to take them to another land, and their plan would be duplicated over and over again. Discouraged and downtrodden, the citizens went on about their business, some went home and resigned themselves to a common life. Others, still holding on to their delusions, set off to find a new Kingdom of gold they heard about a few weeks travel to the west.

A few wise men learned the lesson, and created a scroll for future generations to benefit from.
