Facebook's a Haven for Gamer Spam, and it Sucks!

Is it just me, or are other networkers tired of the silly games that people post all over the walls on Facebook? Everything from Pillow Fights to Mafia Wars, Hearts and Flowers, Chocolates and Kisses, Hugs and Cartoon Farms... What value does all this bring to the Facebook Community? Many of these come from supposed networkers invited from business groups. What that tells me is that people don't have enough to do with their time, except play these funky games. No wonder 98% fail, look what they are plugging in to!

Wouldn't it be great if you could block the games from posting in one easy step. I've tried the "Block this Application" link and the games keep coming. Not to whine, but it takes precious time each day to clean the crap off my wall. Shouldn't people play games with those of like mind, who don't care about building a business? What are your observations and opinions on the subject? Does anyone have solutions that really work?

I agree!

Another part of the "game" problem is that your personal information must be "made available" to the application in order to "play." Maybe it's only being used to to play the game... but how would we know?

In any case, I agree with you completely. I've been ignoring, saying no, and disabling games ever since I joined Facebook. I believe we should use words to connect on social media - and not just any words but OUR OWN words. Time is our most valuable asset. If we have any to spare, I think we should use it to increase our knowledge, strengthen our bodies, or both!

Farmville, etc

I enjoyed reading your comments, Paul. Sometimes my FB Wall is so cluttered with requests that I can hear it oink and moo. Thanks for sharing your insights here!

Silly Posting

Hey Paul

You are right about those postings...I did something the other day with settings and those particular posts went away...the notes are still being posted and they are very valuable
