Fruit Smoothies, Is anything Sacred?

Read More: Social Content

I came across some interesting information today about one of my favorite things, and thats the beloved "Fruit Smoothie!" Aww, come on ya say, as I did, don't tell me there is something wrong with drinking smoothies! Is there anything sacred when it comes to Die it?

As a critical thinker, I listened on, and what I heard made so much sense. So sorry to lay some smack down on your smoothies friends, but turn that blender off for a minute, and listen up!

Everyone knows and is aware by now that soda pop is not a healthy thing to ingest, right? The 50 grams per can of sugar has got to do some damage to any body, and more so the toxic brew created by adding artificial sweetners to an already nasty beverage. There goes my Root Beer Float!

With smoothies, we have in an average serving with the equivelant of 3 pieces of fruit, blended with either milk or juice. When you blend fruit you release the sugars from the cell structure, that ingested will give your body a huge fluctuation in the blood sugar levels. Even fresh carrot juice becomes a concentrated sugar bomb.

If you are not using organic sources for your fruit and base, you are drinking a literal Witches Brew of toxins, pesticides, and fertilizers. Especially bought from retail outlets, that use inferior ingrediants and additives, and is pasturized and dead, void of life force and enzymes you get in live, organic whole fruits.

It is recommended to drink lemon or citrus waters, unsweetened, to prevent the glucose overload.  Come to think of it, my stomach  has always felt alittle weird after  chugging a couple glasses of concentrated fresh fruit smoothie.  And there's definately the  sugar buzzzzzzzzzz!

If you want to drink smoothies, find one that is more protein based, sweetened with Stevia, and drink smaller portions.

Now, I'm going to go out and have a beer and a cigarette!

Very Interesting Paul

I'll Pass on the beer and cigarette Paul,

Very refreshing!

Not only are healthful smoothies refreshing, but I love the introduction of another subject of interest to me: Living healthy. I have found some awesome smoothie recipes over the years and my favorites do have a lot of protein in them, but no strawberries? No blueberries? No PINEAPPLE? I don't think I can give up my "fruit fix" altogether. ;-D

Corporate Gifts

Corporate Gifts Fruits and vegetables should be a staple in the diet because they pack in nutrients and are typically low in calories. They make healthy snacks and great additions to omelets, add color to the lunch or dinner plate, satisfy with their chewiness and hydrate with their high water composition.
