The individual has a team of trainers, fellow athletes, and family behind them all the way. They are "All In" the game, a Network of skilled individuals who's individual effort won't add up to much, but who's combined efforts attract Gold!
Who can succeed in Network Marketing without a solid team? You are excited to join a company, the products are excellent, they will cure cancer and grow hair! You have your own business, and all the benefits that come with it, as well as the hard work, sweat, and heart aches.
The typical story I hear is: "I got signed up and paid my money, and haven't heard anything from anybody since!" Thats the "Throw the mud against the wall and see what sticks" approach, all too common in a recruit, recruit, recruit, business model. These companies are missing the key element, Pillar # 5, a proven duplicatable system with team of coaches, mentors, and mastermind who are committed and dedicated to you achieving the success you are willing to work for.
Missing is the personal bonding and relationship building that happens with a 5 Pillar company. A good example, at the last company convention I attended, the CEO took time to sit with the team and eat, share stories, and answer questions. He was present and in the moment, there for any and all of us! My daughter sat with the President of the company and had lunch, she's 14 years old and was treated like a special guest!
There were break out sessions going on all weekend, and one and all were invited to attend, regardless of who's downline they belonged to. Any one of the top pin holders made time for anyone who had a question, or just wanted to chat. Thats the beauty of an extended family, the 5th Pillar will amaze you!
How long has it been since you interacted with your team? Do you even have a team? Far too many don't...

Some Say You Don't Need That
You hear both sides of the coin, that the team doesn't matter, it's all about you. And some people would rather be completely independent. Well yes it is, you have to be self motivated, but but at the same time, having a supportive group of positive minds makes sticking with the difficult times so much easier!

You need a solid foundation and a supportive team, then nothing can stop you from your dreams!

Your 5th paragraph has a complete oxymoron in it. Someone signs up, pays their money and then never hears from their sponsor again and then you go on to say "achieving the success you are willing to work for". That's hilarious ! If you were really willing to work for success wouldn't you pick up the phone and track down your sponsor. Take the initiative. Prove you really want success.
I talk to my newest recruits every day for 30 days, which really gets them into a positive cash flow pretty quick so I think it's appalling if a sponsor doesn't call his newest recruit BUT these people who want success so badly have to take some responsibility themselves. Pick up the phone - don't just whine your sponsor doesn't call you.

A True Leader
Looking at this from a Newbies point of view...they are maybe to shy to go after their leader/sponsor, or just plain do not know. They have never even been close to Network Marketing or they even need help with computer skills not just with the business they have chosen. Some need help longer than others and some can take off and fly right away.
That is why being a TRUE LEADER is important not to let ANYONE fall throught the cracks.That is Why You Are Called A LEADER. Some of you Better HOPE you get it in 30 Days....OR.. Listen to PAUL.....Thanks Paul

Great points and pertinent observations by everyone. We are ALL talking about human relationships and, last I heard, you need at least two people for that. More than one person? More than one view. So we must keep our eyes and ears open to the needs of others or we'll never make it either as a leader, a team member, a mentor, or as "the new guy on the block." Good post, Paul!

I had searched for 10 years to have a true family standing with me and behind me. Here we are.... Home.. feels so good! You said it right on when you said "No one can do this alone!" There are so many floundering out there who are praying for a team who will work with them to have the success they deserve! The more we need to shine our light!

If you can't are you really, really helping these people do what they came to do - which is make some money?
