scooping Money off Betternetworker.com
in business, there's always partnerships. And i grew up being told:
"Never have partners, all businesses with more than one leader fall apart one day."
I would have believed that, except when i looked around me, it seemed that partnerships made a lot of money.
Like every time you write a post on the Betternetworker website, you are partnering with them. They have a lot of really active visitors who go around and read articles, forum entries, and watch videos.
You supply content to Betternetworker. They supply readers. It's a partnership made in heaven.
I've been in a lot of partnerships over the years. And learned expensive lessons about who makes a good and who makes a bad partner.
These are the two things i look for now in any partner
(or website i decide to grace with my presence):
1. leverage
2. connectability to my primary goal
These are all that matter.
1. Leverage
If you're going to acquire a new partner, check if they give you access to a skill-set, a relationship, or an audience you don't have.
On Betternetworker, for example, they have a very different audience than I do in all my other marketing. A partnership with them gives access to a large audience of people who may not normally find us any other way.
2. Connect-Ability to Your Major Goal
Even though a partnership may give you access to new skills, goals, or relationships...some are more beneficial to you than others. As long as you can see a clear path between where the partnership fits into your overal plan, then go for it!
I initially used Betternetworker because it gave me access to a different audience than what my PPC campaigns did alone. But that also had to fit into my overall strategy to make money from an online marketing business. And not take me away from my primary goal.
That partnership was the best choice I ever made. I made it an awesome partnership because I imagined Betternetworker as a real person.
Because though Jason Better may be a cartoon, and maybe Betternetworker is JUST a community...but there are real people behind everything. Real busines people. And I know any smart business man or woman will want the same things from THEIR partnerships too.
So I added to the available content on Betternetworker, put up good quality stuff, and shared my OWN audience (from Facebook, PPC, my newsletter, blog, etc) with the BN website! In exchange, they gave me SEVEN times the exposure, sent me lots of traffic, ALLLLL their leads, and made me raving customers.
My partnership with Betternetworker made me a fortune.
hey btw, read this. Google Switch.
It's exactly the step-by-step process i used to to take over the forum on Betternetworker's predecessor (Magnetic Sponsoring) 3 years ago. It's FREE and over 100 pages in content--thank me with a share or vote if you love it ;)

BRILLIANT
Awesome Jim, man I am liking your content. I never saw it like that. And when I think about it, I am now on your list, not from PPC or your Blog or anything else you have out there. I am on your list because of Better Networker.
So you ARE reaching an audience here that you wouldn't normally reach with your other marketing methods.
The deal seems to be working. Thanks a bunch.
you must be glad
Greg,
and aren't you glad i went out of my way to reach you at Betternetworker? ;)

Howdy Partner
Partnerships shape everything we do in business, in some form or fashion. How well you treat a partnership reflects directly on your character. Whether people realize it or not, that also shapes peoples image of whether or not they want to work with you.
great post Jim
