Top 10 Twitter Tips TTTT by Marc D. Ward
What’s the difference between a active Twitter user and a non-active Twitter user? Nothing unless you make an impression!! Twitter can be a scary place, with thousands of tweets being posted every second you can sometimes think “Where do I start?” “How can I stick out from the crowd?” “Why is no one Retweeting me?”
Would like to thank Simon Ward who commented on one of my posts, for me to come up with this post.
This all depends how you are seen on Twitter, you may have 10,000+ followers but maybe only have 5 listeners, your tweets may not bring any value, you are not replying to direct messages. You really do need to be active, and post around 10 to 20 tweets a day before other people start smelling your presence, reply to direct messages, and start to Retweet your fellow followers.
Here are my Top 10 Twitter tips to help you stand out from the crowd.
1. Be funny, informative and catchy.
2. Twitter about stuff that has to do with your blog, but also Twitter stuff that has nothing to do with your blog, add value.
3. Share links, share ideas, ask questions, answer questions — anything but “what are you doing?” unless it’s really interesting
4. Write each word like it matters, because it does.
5. Share links. share insights and trends, things that are new or timely/current. Be personal. Don’t link only to yourself.
6. Share interesting resources, not just what you ate for lunch. Twitter often, and use it to test potential blog topics.
7. Efficient is the key to Twitter…. short & sweet. Basically, get right to the point.
8. Stop thinking that Twitter is pointless and just try it. It’s all about community – reach out and be a part of it.
9. Interact and communicate with others – it’s a social media tool, so be social.
10. My last tip is very important, think before you hit send. 140 characters has the power to help, heal or be miss-understood.
And one more for luck, just be YOU!!!!
I really hope this answers any questions that you are asking yourself, and if you feel you have any great tips that you would like to share to us, please comment below, I would love to hear them.

Great tips....This makes it easier to understand and use Twitter. It's not just about telling others you're going to bed now.
Not just any ten...
...but the TOP TEN!!! I was especially glad to see: "also Twitter stuff that has nothing to do with your blog, add value." Awesome advice! We all have a message and a focus as we network but, no matter how much we love our business, we are all human and have a variety of things that interest us. It's a breath of fresh air to see my friends share the many diverse interests they have in their lives. :-)
