Tweet Your Way To Leads - Proper Treatment Of The Twitter Community Works!

So someone has turned you on to using Twitter as a lead generation source. Many Internet Marketing companies believe and promote this means of building your online business. What they fall short of is making sure that your efforts pay off in meaningful leads.

First it is important to realize that this type of lead system is not going to totally grow your business. Twitter is only part of the plan you should have in place to build your lead generation.. It is my belief that anyone that can generate 100 leads a day will rock it out in the Internet Home Business world. When I started I focused on 17 leads a day with the first goal of generating 100 leads a week. Once I got there I just needed to ramp it up to generate additional traffic to get to my 100 leads a day.

This article is not about building your twitter account. This article is some do's and dont's that will leverage what you have built in the form of followers. So let's get started..

1. You must work daily for 15 to 20 minutes and stay faithful to building your follower base.. Imagine a newspaper with 70,000 subscribers ( the size of my Twitter account now). That newspaper would have an immense value just for it advertising revenue. Your Twitter account is the same.

2. Add followers every day and unfollow those that do not follow you back after 24 hours.

3. In the beginning and until you reach 2,500 followers, just tweet content that is interesting. I tweet Quips & Quotes. You can find volumes of them in any search engine. When I find ones I really like I save them in a word document so I can come back and use them again. You should post two or three a day in the beginning. Remember, NO LEAD GENERATION TWEETS!

4. When ever someone tweets you back with a comment about your Quip or Quote, make sure you take a few seconds and acknowledge their response.

5. If someone Re-Tweets your Tweet, make sure you thank the person for doing that.

6. You will know that you are Tweeting proper content when people start to put you down with a #FF (Follow Friday) Follow Friday is a great compliment as people suggest that others start to follow you. #FF is a clear sign that people like your content and have connected with you in the Twitter world.

7. When you hit 5,000 followers, then start with one tweet a day that drives traffic at your web site for lead generation. It is very critical that you don not get over aggressive. Add one more tweet a day that relates to lead generation for every 5,000 followers you add.

8. It is critical that you have multiple ads, quips & quotes. Twitter will suspend your account if you send duplicate content every day.

If you follow the rules and process I outline above, you will be generating leads from your Twitter account within a month. Again, this will not be your primary source of lead generation, but it will be solid part of your overall daily lead flow. Happy Tweeting!
