What Oprah Knows

I was reading today from Oprah's January 2010 issue at the very back of the magazine the article entitled,

"What I Know for Sure".  Oprah starts the article off by saying that she, basically, had not accomplished

the goals by January 2010 that she had set out to do during the previous year.  She says that "all" the

things she had wanted to accomplish she had not accomplished.  Now we all know that Oprah is such a busy,

lady who really has accomplished so many, many things and she had done so much to make the

lives of so many people easier or richer in some way.  The wonderful thing is what she says next!  She

basically says that "2010" is a "start-over"!  And that she feels so blessed to have the chance to "start

-over" and get it right.  That she now has the chance to make the effort to again accomplish her goals. 

The thing is that every one of us feel the same way.  We have all in one way or another not "accomplished"

the goals we set out to do in 2009!!  Sure we did accomplish a lot;  we have all done many things that we

are proud of or that we feel a sense of completion for in a job well done.  But there is surely "one"

thing or more that we had really wanted to do, but failed to do.  The great and wonderful thing is that we

can now have a "start-over" just like Oprah states in this article!!  We can now set new goals which may

include "old" goals we had wanted to accomplish "last year"!!  But now, being a year wiser, we can go

forward one step at a time and make the effort toward satisfaction in doing a job well!!  And that is the

wonder of having a new year before us!  We can now review those goals we "still" want to accomplish and

we can also set new goals.  We can now look forward to a new year-- 2010-- with all the hope and dreams

we that come from our deepest "self" and we can "know for sure" that we can now accomplish those goals

one step at a time, one moment at a time!  Hurray!! Victory lies ahead!!
