Attraction Marketing #1

If you've ever heard the phrase "attraction marketing" (and if you've been online looking for a business to start for more than 15 minutes, you surely have) then you probably already know the basic idea.

Here's my definition of attraction marketing:

Attraction Marketing is the art of projecting your personality and style with your marketing to find future team members who can relate to your message on a core level.

If you have a clearly defined target market, and you concentrate your marketing on that group of prospects, you will "attract" those people who have similar likes, dislikes, wants and needs as your own. On first contact with your marketing content, they will be drawn to you because you're speaking their language.

You don't have to use any special techniques (though good copywriting certainly helps). You don't have to trick them or feed them any BS. The truth as you see it will resonate with them and they will understand where you're coming from with no special effort on your part.

All you gotta do is lay it out the way you see it, in your own voice.

If you've ever come across a marketing piece that had you on the edge of your seat, reading (or listening or watching) with total focus and concentration on the message, you know what I mean.

That's the kind of reaction you want your prospects to have when they see your marketing. You want them to feel like they just can't wait to hear what you've got to say next. It takes next to no effort to do this.
You just say it like you're talking to your best friend.

If they get it, that's great. If they don't, they're just not who you're looking for. That prospect might really get into the same subject delivered by someone else. That's OK. You're looking for those few that really get what you're saying because they can relate to you on a personal level.

With a little practice, it's really not that hard to do.

In Attraction Marketing #2, we'll talk about "Branding Yourself".

I don't get this stuff

I was doing some consulting work for a insurance company this week. The owner said he used facebook and got shut down. He said he did not think he could advertise on facebook.

I said yes you can but you must use attraction marketing. Later he said I don't understand this internet stuff. I then explained this is not internet stuff this is real world advertising.

Most small business have never had the opportunity to learn real advertising. And ad for most businesses is just letting people know what you do.

The most successful business through history have used attraction marketing. If you read book 120 years old they used attraction marketing then too.

Attraction marketing works

I like that attraction marketing definition Dave, people are more willing to work with other like minded individuals. That's why it's absolutely necessary to target your market.

Took me awhile to get this, when I first started to market I thought I could sell to the broadest audience out there but quickly found out I was just spinning my wheels. It's much easier to attract people to you as opposed to chasing them down.
