Don't do like the Old School!
Don't go where the Old School went! Here is what I discovered about my business: 1- I had made a list of 228 people (128 more than I had been asked to make, as I wanted to... "hit the ground running", as they say). 2- I signed up 10 people (most of these did it as a favor to get me off their back). 3- All of my best people quit within 3 months, and the ones who were left (all but one) seemed to be hibernating, and the one that was active wasn't making very much progress. This was not what I had expected after spending hundreds of hours and having countless conversations with my list of contacts along with my upline trying to help them "get it", not to mention spending about $2,500 up to that point on training materials, coaching, books, product samples, DVD, fliers etc. The truth was, that experience nearly did me in. My friends and family stopped answering the phone when I would call, even though I promised them I wouldn't ever bring up the business... and I got strange looks from my neighbors as they would turn their backs to me when I would pull in the drive way or be out walking my dogs. I stopped being invited out to dinners and Birthday parties and my phone seemed to be broken (it didn't ring very often). I felt TOTALLY disconnected from reality. I had been trained to see those who were not interested in the business "nay sayers" and "dream stealer's" and that I should just ignore them and use the "SWSWSWN" technique to keep my head in the game (some will some won't so what, next) and to just continue prospecting. This experience landed me in the NFL club (the no friends left club), which is kind of a lonely place, and one that I suggest YOU AVOID at all cost. My hope in telling you about MY experience is to help you avoid the pain that I had to go through to wake up to the fact that I finally realized I needed a better faster, more strategic way to grow my business, and I vowed to never again try to profit off my family and friends, as I soon learned that there are thousands of people out there RIGHT NOW looking for your products and services, but just like I had to, you will learn in time (if you haven't already) that you've got to go outside your warm market if you are truly going to grow a successful business. To this day... nearly EVERY company still teaches these old and outdated methods of business building to their distributors... As always, I'm here to tell you the truth about what is really going on behind the scenes and how you can take guaranteed steps toward building a massively successful business. Here are some essential FACTS that you absolutely need to know: Point #1: Leave Your Friends and Family Alone. "Warm Market" business building statistics in this industry have been tracked for over 25 years; the results never change. Distributors that focus on building a downline with their "Warm Market" have a success rate of 0.013%. Yes, you read that correctly. That's less than 1%. There are those fortunate few who may have an entrepreneurial circle to call on, but for most of us, we are unfortunately not in this position. The Alternative? Armed with the proper "know how", it is very easy to identify and specifically target thousands, even hundreds of thousands of "ideal" prospects, who are out there right now looking for your specific products, services and business opportunity. Your family and friends are probably not the best candidates. Your "ideal" prospects are those who come to you, ready willing and able to buy your products and join your business opportunity when you learn the art of "positioning" (more on this later). Don't try to convince or persuade family members, friends, and co-workers to join you. The right people will come to you in greater numbers than you can imagine, if you're using the right tools and techniques. Point #2: Do What They Do, NOT What They Say. What are the new breed of top dog's using these days? The real pros in this industry DO NOT bother their family and friends! No joke. They know how to easily get more eager business builders and product users to come to them in droves with credit card in hand, ready to do business. This is a closely guarded strategy called "positioning" that took me nearly 9 years to discover. The exciting truth is, anyone can learn how to do the exact same thing with the right training. In closing... The new generation of high income earners in this industry don't use "warm market" techniques. They don't approach their family and friends and they do NOT end up in the NFL (no friends left). They don't do hotel meetings, 3 way calls with their up line, home parties, or buy $2 - $3 business opportunity seeking leads. Instead, they leverage themselves inexpensively with the latest marketing know-how that many wildly successful traditional companies use to build enormous businesses. This information may surprise you, it certainly did me when I first got to peek behind the curtain.
