Facebook Marketing: Several Easy Tips You Can Start Using Today

Read More: Social Networking

Facebook is the second most visited site on the internet behind Google.

And with well of 30,000,000 members and plans to soon conquer the internet (Business Insider), there's no doubt Facebook is becoming the Social Networking site you want to be on, if you are looking to build your brand and connect with your target market.

And as a Network Marketer, you can use Facebook to not only build your personal brand, but too create some really good leads.

I just want to share with you several Facebook Marketing tips that I current use and that you can implement today and also start pulling in some good leads.

Add Opt-In Form Profile Page:

  1. Create a new opt-in form in your auto-responder and copy the form's html code.
  2. Log into Facebook and click on the application tab, which can be found along the left side, of the home page after you sign in.
  3. Once on the application page, conduct a search for term "HTML Box". You will be given several choices but they all pretty much do the same thing. I use Profile HTML.
  4. After choosing the application that you wish to use. Simply paste the form's html code into the appropriate location within the application.
  5. Save or submit your form code and then go over to your profile page.
  6. Your new form should be located in the left side column.

Send Leads A Friend Request:

Another thing I like to do, when someone opts into my lead capture page. I will use their email address to search for them on Facebook.

If I'm not currently friends with them, I will send them a friend's request but I also include a short note that states the following:

"Hello John!

Thank you for recently visiting my site (site url).

Please accept this request and let's continue to network here on FB.

Talk to you later,

Anthony"

This does a couple of things:

  1. It refreshes the leads memory that they were at my site and most click the url link and return.
  2. It starts building the connect or relationship between the lead and myself.

Stand Out From The Others:

Whenever I receive a event notice, that someone on my friends list is having a birthday. I will record a short 20-30 second video, wishing them happy birthday. This helps you standout from all the others, who are sending text messages.

People get a kick out of this and believe me, it goes a long way in solidifying that relationship building process. Which is what Facebook Marketing and Social Media Marketing is all about!

Much Success,

More Facebook Tips...

Anthony, those are some fantastic tips! I may put the opt in form on the profile page as well. I wonder if you can add that to your fan page?

Here are a couple more tips I've found really helpful at producing results through Facebook:

1. Create a discussion area at a fan page. This allows you to continually refer to new discussions (hot new topics or engaging topics) in emails to your list or in other social locations (like a comment or a Twitter post) -- it also allows you to connect with people and build relationships. When you answer one person's question hundreds of people see it. When people see you being helpful for so many others they automatically see you as an expert (credibility ranking increase through living social proof).

Here's the discussion area I set up that perfectly demonstrates my point (and note how I get to refer you to it here LOL... also note how people respond to me there at the discussion area because they see me as a truly valuable resource for others):

Another tip:

When creating posts for your Wall, do so mindfully and prepare a head of time. Your goal is to create engaging discussions that create buzz because as others post or comment, it can lead their followers to you and your audience grows.

Here's what I do to to create thought provoking or solutions oriented posts:

I have a running list of valuable ideas, relevant quotes, engaging questions that I write down and keep. Every day I return to this and post one of those on Facebook. From that list I am able to work on them all at once when I feel like doing so. That way I don't have to think something up that's really going to engage the audience every day.

Here's some social proof that it works ;-)
Note that my comments and interaction with the community is high because I am planning ahead of time:

Thanks Mike!...

GREAT tips! I will be putting this to use. As far as adding the opt-in form to your Fan Page, here you go:

1. Login in first and then go to the Static FBML application page:
http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=4949752878&ref=mf

2. Click on the "Add to my Page" button. A pop up will allow you to add the application to every fan page you own. Click the "Add to Page" button to add the application to your fan page.

3. Go back to your fan page and click on the "Edit Page" link.

4. You will find a new box in your "Edit Page" called FBML 1. Click on the pencil icon and from the drop down menu, select & click on the edit link.

5. Now edit your static html page. Edit the name of your new page in the "Box Title" field and you enter HTML code in the "FBML" field (place your opt-in forms html code here or whatever you want).

6. Go back to your fan page. Click on the + symbol to add a new tab. You should now see your new page in the navigation menu. Simply select the tab to move it where you want.

Hope this helps!

Glad You Like it!

This is really simple if you have a webcam because you can record the video right into Facebook.
