Facebook Shut me Down! Now What!

Read More: Social Networking

This is not my Story But it could of Been Read and Learn!

When I first signed up for FB about a year ago I had like 500+ friends in the first few weeks and they shut me down!

I did a little research on Google and found the magic formula for getting a closed account opened back up.

Even when they say EVERYWHERE they will NOT open one back up. It basically involves begging, pleading, and apologizing.

I wrote 1 letter, but kept sending it to all their departments every few days. Then I found their phone number and called a few times.

It took about 2 weeks, but I got it back opened. And didn't add anyone for a few months.

And now this

I just got a warning from facebook that I may be violating their policies for accepting too many friend requests??? Sorry everyone I'm going to have to ignore these for a while. I accepted like 20 of them... I still have 954 unanswered requests!!!
Now I'm going to stop adding or accepting 100% for a while and cross my fingers it doesn't happen again.

So what is the Key to Facebooks Madness and will it really matter in the future?

 It's called patron care.
Solution: Just limit your replies to 10 per day. Tedious, I know, but it keeps big sloppy brother off your back, plus it will only be a matter of time until FB changes hands again and is then tweaked to become a whole lot better than it is or until someone creates another platform that just blows it to pieces. Remember that until a few short years ago FB was not even a thought so a FaceLift is only a thought away.  5 years ago it was Myspace, which today is a distant memory.

I honestly can't believe that nobody has dethroned FB yet. All you hear users do is complain, and they pretty much have the worst....

- Email
- Chat
- Picture sharing
- Video Sharing
- etc

It's really a shock they've risen to the level they have.

So the Bottom line is Make sure you have Back up on line in other places!  Do not depend on one Social Media Site.
And limit your activity in each place you are Socializing at.

And have fun!

When Social Marketing, Don't Keep Our Eggs In One Basket!

Absolutely! Thanks for those valuable tips on how to keep in safe on FB. I agree, we need to spread ourselves out and venture into multiple networks to keep ourselves safe and growing!

Thanks for the great advice

Thanks for the great advice Juanita, I have had an account closed down without warning which is annoying to say the least. With your advice I will have to change tact from spreadin FB useage through the day to over the course of a couple of days.

Have a Social Media Backup Plan!

That's the moral of this story for sure! Don't put all your friends in one place too, make sure you provide links for them to connect with you on your other social media sites as well!

Great post Juanita! :D

Erm, what about Fan Page?

Two secret words...

Fan..Page. You can change settings so people see that page first and join there.

No limit on numbers to have as friends.

Facebook Does Need a FaceLIFT

That's funny but a great way of getting the point across. I have heard of so many people who have been deleted from Facebook and when we're there to network, it can be devastating to watch all of our hard work and efforts go down the drain. Limiting ourselves to one social media site is a death trap.

Thanks for Value

Great to know this stuff Juanita. And yes, we should all have a fan page and a group. There are three components to Facebook. Thanks for information Juanita.

There Are Always Alternatives

Hey Juanita, this was a great article. I haven't been shutdown myself but I have got a couple of warnings. I will definitely take your advise on limiting my friend requests. Also there are other sites that you can use to grow your business as the ones you mentioned. Thanks for giving other alternatives and for the great advice.
