How To Get the Most Out of Your Free BetterNetworker Account

Read More: Social Networking

If you're new to the BetterNetworker community, then maybe you're wondering how you can get the most out of being a member.

While we of course recommend that you join the Association of Better Networkers (ABN), there are a lot of ways that you can get more out of your time here, even if you're not a paid member.

TIP #1

Think Before You Share a Link to Your Website or Blog

(Nobody Likes a Spammer!)

The first thing you'll notice is that you won't get much love from our members if you break the community rules and guidelines.

You can find the community rules and guidelines available here.

This is a place to share, help, and make new connections. It is not a place to spam links to your generic company website, sales pages, or informercials. If you want to share an external link, then make sure it’s relevant to the conversation. That way you'll be following the community guidelines and get more web traffic too.

There's nothing wrong with sharing your personal links on your profile, in your articles or videos, or in a short biography box at the bottom of your content.

But think about bringing value to our community first before you share any link. The more helpful your content is, the more people will share it.

TIP #2

Try to Be Positively Proactive Instead of Negatively Reactive

(When in Doubt, Be Reasonable or Nice!)

I'm talking about going out of your way to be reasonable and nice even if somebody posts something that you don't necessarily support or agree with. If they truly are breaking the rules of the community, then a polite warning is enough.

If they continue to break the rules, then reporting them is the next logical step. It's never acceptable for our members to verbally attack other members. We are a family here on BetterNetworker and it only hurts our community.

We often get what we focus on in life. If we focus on the wonderful things in our tight-knit community, then we will get more of the same.

TIP #3

This is Definitely the Place to Network and Connect

(Friendship is a Gift You Give Yourself!)

When I tell you that the friendships and partnerships you forge here will last a lifetime, you may be tempted to brush it off and go on your way.

Yet it's no secret that some of the biggest leaders in our industry got their start here in the BetterNetworker community, right where you are today. These relationships have had a huge impact on our industry as a whole.

For example, Raymond Fong and Fernando Ceballos had a particularly inspirational start here as humble members of the BetterNetworker community. You might know them from their epic "No Excuses" Event in in Vegas, which might very well be the largest event in the history of our industry.

To this day, you will still see some of their older posts being discussed by members. They've become legends in our industry for their amazing success.

Make no mistake, the BetterNetworker community is where the leaders of today and tomorrow in our industry are shaking hands and making great plans for the future. You could very well be one of them if you take time to proactively bring value to the community and make a difference.

Thank you,

Jason Better
