How to Move a Facebook Profile to a Facebook Page
Many businesses and entrepreneurs are looking to move their Facebook profile to a Facebook page. Maybe you created a profile for your business before Facebook introduced pages. Perhaps you use your name as your business but need a page to expand the amount of tools and customization available to build your brand. Or maybe your are just really, really popular and have reached the 5,000 friend limit.
Until now, there really was no simple way to migrate a profile to a page. Standard operation was to make a ton of posts asking your friends to “like” your page or to suggest your page to all of your friends. These methods rarely produce a high percentage of friends moving over to a page.
Thanks to the Profile Migration Page, recently introduced by Facebook, moving a Facebook profile to a Facebook page is now quick and easy. Just head on over to the Facebook Migration Page and follow the steps to move your Facebook profile to a page.
Here is a statement from Facebook to consider before making your move:
At this time only your profile photo and friends will be moved to your new Page. No other content will be moved. You will still be able to log in from your original email address and password.
This tool was meant primarily for profiles that DO NOT represent a person. Once you tranfer your profile to a page, your original profile will not be available unless you ask for a reversal here.
This new Facebook feature should make things much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs looking to move their Facebook profile to a Facebook page.
