How To Use Facebook To Grow Your Blog, Plus A Special Announcement

You know what I realized a couple days ago, while creating my official facebook page? :0).. “I don’t think I’ve ever posted about Facebook on my blog”

One of my readers, Zachary, left me a comment on Friday’s post that got me thinking about my Facebook strategy.

He asked me to list the 6 listbuilding methods by order of effectiveness, which is a great way to find out what to focus on the most.

…but I didn’t have much data to even include Facebook in the mix. This is NOT GOOD, since Facebook is the second most visited site on the web.

Over the next couple months, I’m really gonna get serious about my Facebook strategy and I’ll definitely be sharing with you what works and what doesn’t.

But, Why Bother With Facebook In The First Place??

Well, I did say it’s the second most visited site on the web, right? Well, there’s a little more to it…

In January, 2010 – users spend 14 minutes a day, on average, on Facebook. Compared to Google’s 4.1 minutes a day and MSN’s 3.9 minutes; It’s very clear where the vast majority of the people online are spending their time.

Even though I was more focused on making my blog more effective, I was getting some traffic from Facebook that is gradually increasing.
