Is Twitter on their last “tweet”?
Twitter has been expanding at an unprecedented rate, and with their announcement of @ Anywhere platform it has been the “tweet” of the week. The @Anywhere platform specifically means “anywhere”, operators of third party websites will be able to plug in @ Anywhere and use some of Twitters basic functions without leaving the original website they were on. This is going to make many people happy as the worst thing that can happen is when the web browser quits browsing.
When you browse a web page that supports @ Anywhere you will be able to follow any Twitter account that is an associate with that site without going to Twitter.com. They are also saying you will be able to tweet about a YouTube video without causing it to stop or be interrupted. Initial websites that will be participating will be websites like Amazon, Ad Age, Bing, City Search, Digg, Ebay, Meebo, MSNBC.com, Yahoo and YouTube to name a few.
While this may be a new move for Twitter, Facebook has been dominating this idea for awhile with a version they call Facebook Connect. Their open technology platform is well known and Twitter APIs are already widely implemented but this is a different approach because they have created something incredibly simple. Rather than implementing APIs, site owners need only drop in a few lines of JavaScript and there you go @ Anywhere works.
As a matter of fact Twitter just celebrated its 10 billionth tweet made in March of 2010. Twitter also has a current retention rate of 40 percent but the site is said to reach only 10 percent of all internet users, think of the growth ahead of them. Most tweets are done on Wednesday or Thursdays, the time when “maniac Mondays” are over, and they are bored, getting ready for the weekend.
So the answer the question “Is Twitter on their last Tweet?” – Not even close!

Twitter violation
I'm trying to stay within guidelines, but just received a "potential" Twitter violation. I'm using Tweet Adder which is a great tool, but it might have led me to be too aggressive. What I can't find out is just what are the exact rules? I see that the rules say you shouldn't have too many follows and not enough followers, that you can't get too many followers and unfollowers in a short time frame, but nothing says what those numbers are.
How are we supposed to know so we can stay within the guidelines?
Twitter Violation
Hey Larry,
There are some things that you want to be speed lightning on and then there are others that being slow and consistent is the key to success. I have been really studying Twitter and have had some great teachers like Charles Montgomery and Juan Walker that have been great friends and very resourceful. With Twitter the 10 percent rule comes into play and once you hit that threshold yes you will get a notice that you need more followers, get to many notices and yes the "violations" can haunt you even eventually shut you down. While I do not use Tweet Adder and dont feel I can comment on that as I know nothing of that program, I do use Hummingbird which is not aggressive at all. I can only recommend you find a free tool online like I use called Unfollow - it allows you to unfollow 50 people per day that are not following you. I do this every couple days, this may help you lower the people you are following and reduce your violations. If you would like to send me your Twitter name I can follow you and look at your public information and see if I can see anything else that could help you. If you are following more that 100 or so per day people I would tame it down - but it depends on how many people you have as follwers, you have to make your account "look" like it not being ran by a "bot" or you will get shut down. Hope this answers or helps answer your question. Thank you for the question though! Have a phenominal day!
Twitter violation
Robert,
Thanks for the advice. Tweet Adder allows you to make the kind of adjustments you recommend, (unfollows etc) but you can also set your own limits. Not knowing any better I think I became overly aggressive.
I never "searched" for anyone that wasn't topic relevant, so I didn't think I'd be breaking rules. Have no interest in following just anyone.
I actually have several Twitter names for different purposes, but the one in question is Brokerforste.
Appreciate your advice.
Larry
I am already following you - awesome
Seems I am already following - oh by the way it looks like you are manually adding tweets - if so here is a quick comparison I did on Social Oomph and Hootsuite - let me know what you think - I personally use Social Oomph and it works great - and it's Free ! http://robertstrongmarketing.info/uncategorized/social-oomph-or-hootsuit...
If there is anything else I can do to answer a question or help you out let me know !
