Reach More People With Your Message On Twitter
Have you heard of the Twitter effect? It's the rapid spread of information using Twitter or other social networks that can send so much traffic to a site that it crashes. The formula for this phenomenon looks like this: (Original tweet * followers) + (retweets * followers of retweeters) + (retweets of retweets * followers of those) ++++
My interest in the Twitter Effect is not to crash sites but to send more traffic to my own by using the re-syndication efforts of a small band of like-minded marketers. If 10 marketers agreed to retweet selected messages for each other they could multiply their reach by the total number of followers of the 10. And, if you taught each of those 10 to form their own groups of 10, the results could be interesting. (You'll have to figure out the math on that for yourself--I was an English major!)
I have been using software and some other strategies to add to my Twitter following on a daily basis and just crossed the 2000+ followers mark (started from 0 on 5/20/2009 --less than a month!).
I try to follow the model of "90/10 Tweeting" --sending out great content to add value to the Twitterverse 90% of the time and adding links advertising me or my interests only 10%. You can check it out --and follow me! :) at blindmsemrketer on Twitter.
So, what do you think of this idea? Would you like to multiply the reach of your messages on Twitter? Start a group of 10 and let me know how it goes. If you would like to try this with me, shoot me an email (mrbill@webhomeworkers.com) or give me a call (734-895-8495).
