Tips for Effectively NetWORKing ~ Part 5 of 5
Effectively NetWORKing Tip #5:
- "Seek First to Help Someone, Before Asking For Help"
Why would you initiate a networking relationship with someone by asking something like, "How can I help you?"
If this seems counter-intuitive, consider this simple paraphrased lesson from the greatest Teacher of all time:
- If you wish to be great, find a way to serve the most, because service to many leads to greatness.
It's extremely difficult to argue with this profound wisdom once you really become aware of the benefits! If you can't perceive the benefits, allow me to present you with two, whenever you ask someone how you can help them:
- It immediately establishes a foundation built on TRUST, which generally leads to establishing an unbreakable bond.
- Whenever you help someone first, once again, you activate the law of reciprocation, prompting them to want to help you in return... no questions asked.
There's plenty of wisdom out there that further establishes the merits of why we should all aim to be of service to other people... especially if you're wanting to become successful in every area of your life. For example, Zig Ziglar, discovered and shared this idea many years ago:
- "You can get any thing you want, if you will help enough other people get what they want."
In order to stay on track of effectively networking, you'll want to cultivate a reputation of being a person who genuinely wants to be of valuable service. Former President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, may have said it best in his famous inaugural speech:
- "Ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country."
Well, I pray that you have found value in these five simple yet powerful tips for effectively netWORKing. If you have, leave a comment and place a vote! In any case, thank you for taking the time to read anything I am willing to share.
I look forward to effectively netWORKing with YOU!
