Spamming! Is It Ignorance Or Desperation?

Well this article isn't going to be any different.

If you're new to Network Marketing or if you've been struggling at it for a while....

After reading this post, if you ever use SPAM to promote your business, rather it be via social networking sites, email, forums or whatever!

Then the answer to the title of this post, is quite clear as far as you are concerned!

The image below is of a message I received from someone on Facebook and my response.

As you can see from the message, this person "Johnny", flatout sent me a pitch for some business opportunity he is involved with.... An opportunity that obviously I'm not interested in.

I know that Johnny has been marketing online for a few years and I know that he is aware of proper marketing methods, which lead me to the question of; "Is this Ignorance or Desperation?"

1. Do most people spam simply because they don't know any better? 
2. Or do you think they do it simply out of desperation to make a sale?

This conversation reminded me of a post  I wrote back in 2008 and I wanted to share that post with you here:

"Spam Is For Making Sandwiches Not Money"....

Spam although its used for making sandwiches, it certainly is not the best tasting stuff around. Would you not agree?

But yes, there are those who do enjoy it. Why I don't know but they do.

Me, I hate the stuff! Both the kind used to make sandwiches and the stuff that many are spreading all over the internet on many of the social networking sites that I visit.

One thing I've come to realize, is that most people.... Most people are not even aware that they're spamming.

Not knowing or not caring that they are ruining there reputation and a chance at building a lasting business.

A perfect example is when someone welcomes a new member to a site. They usually will post something like this:

"Hi Bob welcome to the site. I want to tell you all about my company. Blah blah blah".

I want to see us all succeed and make millions of dollars on the internet. But the truth is this, you will make very little if anything, as long as you continue to market, "Yourself" and your business this way.

Listen, I used to do the same thing when I started (Ignorance was my reason).... But that was before I learned about the concept of "Attraction Marketing".

Through attraction marketing, I learned that....

1.  I need to first build relationships. 
2. Then I had to learn how to be of "Value" to others.

What I mean by this is, once a person views you as a reliable source that they can turn to for help, they soon start to see as an "expert" of sort. Something more than just another person pushing "The Next Big Thing".

I've said this before and I'll say it again, if you're not familiar with "Attraction Marketing", then you really need to get a copy of Mike Dillard's book, "Magnetic Sponsoring".

For me this book is like the bible of marketing. I've read it at least 5 times and I refer to it often. It's the best $37 I've ever spent. (Note: To date I've now read this about 15 times.)

We all do this to make money, become financial free and just enjoy life but unless more people learn how to properly market and promote, there will be a lot fewer of us having a chance to experience any of these things.
