The New FTC Guidelines and How it Affects YOU!

Hey Peeps!

I just got an email from Frank Kern explaining the new FTC rules and guidelines and how it applies to BLOGS and TESTIMONIALS.

For blogs, it basically says that blogs hosted by a non-existent person will no longer be approved. (Click here for a better example.)

Now, for testimonials, the trick is now that you can no longer just put the phrase, “Results not typical. Your results may vary.” You now have to go a step further and say something like,  “Results not typical. The average user experiences XYZ.” - and put the actual calculated avereage of the results from the users of your product.

For example, if you have a product that shows people how to work from home and provide a testimonial from a person who says they made $62,496 in 3 weeks, you have put at the bottom, “Results not typical. The average user only makes an extra $146/weekly.” Pretty damaging, right?

The best way to get around this is to just post testimonials from people claiming they like you, your product, and are happy with their purchase.

Why are they doing this? Well, the FTC's argument is that if you post a testimonial with over the top results, then your leading the public on to believe that anyone who purchases your product will be catapulted into the heavens of financial freedom - which is misleading.

The market is now flooded with people making and selling their own products - filling you up with as many empty promises they need to just to get you to buy their product. So, to seperate the men from the mice, they made this new rule. I can't hardly argue with that.

So, my advice is to comply and follow thier rules. It's always better safe than sorry.

For more info, go to Frank Kern's Mass Control blog. It's really cool with lots of stuff to feed your brain!

Peace,

Drea

Note: Results are not typical. Most people don't follow the guidelines, try to mouse around them, and end up getting nowhere.
