What If Facebook Went Away? aka Technology Always Changes

We’ve all gotten really dependent on technology
to help us run our businesses. For many of us,
technology…the programs and the how-tos…
IS our business.

Think about it.

Computers, iPads, smart phones, gadgets and widgets ..

Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and YouTube

Yup…we’ve gotten pretty darned dependent on all
of it, haven’t we?

But what if it all went away tomorrow?

What would you do?

Would YOU be prepared to conduct business without
Facebook?

Without your computer or smart phone?

It happens. Just a week ago I could not access my
Facecbook account for some reason.

And last Thursday morning, my tablet decided to
"password protect" itself (yes, all by itself!) and I
can’t use it at all until it’s fixed.

(Makes a lovely…but expensive…paperweight! lol)

I’ve done blog posts and written articles about this before,
but the recent situation with my tablet made me realize
once again how CRITICAL it is to be a student of
human nature and to understand marketing fundamentals.

Cause when you do, you’re able to conduct business
ANYWHERE…on the Main Street of your town or the
Internet superhighway.

So in the past couple months, despite the fact that
my computer’s motherboard fried, access to my Facebook
account was blocked twice, my smartphone went out of
commission and needed a boatload of updates and my tablet
decided to lock me out for some reason…

My business is THRIVING because I’ve learned the
IMPORTANT stuff.

Technology ALWAYS Changes

Getting a handle on the technical stuff matters, of course.
The Internet, smart phones, etc. give us AMAZING leverage!

But you must remember that technology ALWAYS changes.

And if it's not changing, it's crashing, breaking down or
offline.

Remember to USE technology as a TOOL...and ground yourself
in the principles of marketing and human psychology.

Then when blue screens, outages and blocked accounts come
your way (and they will), you can smile and continue to
build your business on a solid foundation.
