Hello Diane, I'm sitting in my truck waiting to be loaded for my return trip back to Jackson Michigan. I just read Mike's latest email and it has motivated me to refocuse on my business so that I can retire from this job. Our thoughts lead us to our feelings lead us to our actions lead us to our results. We all have 24 hrs per day what are we going to do with them? A normal person sleeps 8 hrs works 8hrs and it is what your going to do with the other 8hrs is going to determine your current circumstances. Thank's for your thoughts Walt 517 914 5129

Worthwhile Rant. I enjoyed every line.
Many people DON'T really want a business. They want a get rich quick scheme, or a magic switch they can flick. It takes less effort to open a wallet than to roll up sleeves and put in hours, weeks, months or years into personal and business evolution BootCamp.
But what a great day it is for anyone to realise there is no magic switch. Then they can choose to get on with the business of building a business using their own unique intelligence and application.

Ranting isn't that like Whining?

Sorry I don't have a picture , I erased mine and try to put in a new one but the old one won't go away. Anyway, It amazes me how most people want instant gratification. Get rich today. It doesn't make any difference how much training material you buy,where you twit or tweet, if you don't fall on your butt once in awhile, you're robably not trying. This is some funny stuff,who needs comics when they can read all these articles.

Best Life Lesson to Learn

Diane, i loved your post and it is right on. I want to take it one step further and give another light bulb to turn on.

That light bulb is We are being programmed by others and have been since we arrived from the womb.

I think most of this programming was done with good intention, never the less it still is programming.

We were programed by our parents giving us their thoughts on how to keep us safe, what is proper to wear, what church we should go to etc, etc, etc.

Next came our friends. To be their friend we should act this way or do what THEY wanted us to do.

Then came our teachers that taught us the courses needed to graduate but it was still THEIR THOUGHTS.

Next was our bosses. If we did not do the work the way they wanted, your job was on the line. THEIR THOUGHTS.

Last but not least, our spouses. We were programmed that a wife is supposed to do certain things and the husband was to do their thing. Someone else's thoughts.

I have come full circle but it took me until age 72 to get it because I never thought of the power of others thoughts and if I was thinking something, was it really my own thought.

This awaking has given me a new concept on life in general and I love my own thoughs because they are mine.

Yes, this is my thought, but I think if you put into perspective, it will make a lot of sense and the light bulbs will start going on.

Yes, we all have read all the ways to get rich fast but most of them are completely not real or you are stealing from someone. I want to make my Financial Income the way that fits me best. I do not care how long it takes but I will have security in the end. I will not have to jump from one company to another.

To build a business, you must have leaders and followers. It takes a team of people to make it last. They must have the same dedication and it must their want, not someone else. You do this by forming relationships.

To add something else about me. I am legally blind and society probably tells me I could not share in the riches the way a sighted person can. I do not believe that for one moment. My mind is very sharp and have internet tools that make me a sighted person.

No one should go by other peoples program. Read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and he tells you how YOU have the ability to do whatever you desire. We all have the ability to THINK OUR OWN THOUGHTS. I have found I must keep a POSITIVE mindset in those thoughs.

Try this and see what happens to your thinking. If you need help, I am here to help you by sharing how I did it.

The life you wil have and the business you can have will be there for you.

Money for nothing and your...

You are right Diane, we all want it for nothing yet for some reason we are still willing to pay for it as long as we think we don't have to work for it! I've been in the business for about 7 months and I am sorry to say I have chased some of those elusive yet pricey let me get you rich deals. I had forgotten that I still had to do the work. We are in a business and we do have to work and that is OK! So roll up your sleeves and do what you need to do to get the job done.

In All Honesty...

I want to know what everyone knows, but I know I can't do what everyone does. As I try different things that don't work that well, I'm not so focused on myself. Building a network requires the ability of the people I sponsor to succeed. When I know that the formula works, then I can expect it to be duplicated. If I don't have a formula... am I gonna try to cheat off the guy next to me? And if that guy's answer is wrong?

Most believe People have good intentions.......

Thank you for the rant. It is important to have a good in your face talking to every now and again.

I believe one reason people keep buying the "magic pill" is that they want to believe people. They want to believe that the text is a sales letter is really true.

I must admit is was not that long ago I was getting sucked into the magic bullet buying funnel. It is frustrating and disappointing!

Your post is a great reminder that the people at the top are there because they consistently put their time in!

So roll up your sleeves and get to work all you home business owners:-)

This industry reminds me of real estate investing. Believe it or not I think I get more "pitches" from Guru's in the REI market!

People need to 1) Create a strategy 2) Work the Strategy 3) Keep working the strategy! 4) REALLY work the strategy

Too many people stop at #1 or #2 when you really only start to get results around #4!

The Jumpers

When I read this rant it reminds me of all of the sales and training meeting's I have a had in the car business. This business is so much like the car biz its scary. I have always called this my 80/20 rule.
If you have 10 sales consultants on a sales team 2 sales consultants or 20% will always be at the top and everyone else falls somewhere in between. The sales consultants in between always make excuses why there not selling cars. The competition has better programs,we don't have enough traffic,that guy was and idiot ....

You get the picture!

Then in six months they leave to join another dealerships where they have to start all over again building there customer base and in six month will leave again for the same reasons.

The other 20% stay where they are....build a client base...do great follow-up and end up selling 50% of the cars every month!

Does this sound familiar?

Do yourself a favor and learn how to close! If you don't know how to sell I am convinced you will never make it in this business, or any other for that matter, where selling is a major part of your job.

Great post. It is so true how this happens to us all.
I think we all have done it at some time in our live either online or offline. It seems like it is so much easier to do online these days.
Taking personal responsibility for our business and actually treating it like a business with a business plan! That seems so strange to most network marketers and internet marketers that I have met.
