Why All These "Secret" Facebook Techniques Are WORTHLESS
It never ends…
Seen it for 11 years…
Heck I tried it all.
Back in the day it was loading up an autoresponder with leads and blasting away..
Or running $2 ads in ezines…
I could go on and on.
And now it is SECRET FACEBOOK TECHNIQUES
Everyone is screaming that they have one…
How to get more friends…
How to get more fans…
How to get more likes…
How to run the magic ads…
Let me break something to you…
Something that you DO NOT want to hear…
But it’s the truth…
Fans that don’t know who the heck you are…
Will NOT read your stuff!
Just like leads who are dumped into an autoresponder never read your
stuff back when you did that either.
You can dump $7000 a month on Facebook ads like some will advise you
And I promise you that will not work either.
In fact…I’d lay money on it.
And here’s why…
If you lead people via an ad or a “technique” or a ‘tribe” to you and you do not have
a presence or content to back it up…
If you are not running conference calls…
If you do not have a solid site with solid and VALUABLE content that YOU come up with…
The people will IGNORE YOU no matter how many fans you get from the outsourcing place…
Or how many times you pay someone at FIVERR.com to plug your page.
They will not see you as some one who can take them to the promised land and
they will just keep on going…walking right on by YOU …they guy who did all the work towards someone esle that they perceive to be able to LEAD them.
And what’s worse is that many people spend their days creating posts and ads that
push the people that they do collect towards someone other than themselves in order to make a
little affiliate commission. People spend THOUSANDS to make pennies and give away their list as they do this.
OH how I wish you realized what you are doing to yourself when you engage in that practice.
You are shooting yourself in the foot BIG TIME.
So here’s the scoop…
Until you really buckle down and learn the FINE ART OF ATTRACTING and ENTERTAINING A CROWD you will
FOREVER be dumping your dollars into a never ending pit of desperation.
NO FACEBOOK SECRET TECHNIQUE is gonna save you.
Did the Twitter ones?
Did the video marketing ones?
Did the adwords one???
No…I didn’t think so.

I get many of my leads from Facebook...
It's a great place to locate people who are interested in what you have.
I am just saying that all the hypy techniques and "secrets' mean NOTHING if you are not set up when you generate the lead.

Diane, It is refreshing to read a post from a leader who is courageous enough to swim against the current and express an unpopular opinion. Time will tell... I suspect that the big winner will be the guru who sells the info. The info may be true, but I wonder how many buyers will actually put the knowledge into practice effectively. There are always some who are more successful at using any game, especially if they have lots of money or a huge following. It reminds me of the man who got rich years ago selling a book entitled, "The Lazy Man's Way To Riches."

Having a big list that you collect the wrong way is just as useless as not having one. Gathering a crowd takes time and if you are not willing to take that time you will not do well. Period!

System of Duplication

Does your company have a system of duplication? Dianne is totally right. Any social networking takes ALOT of your time even if you have the skills. If you need to make money now, the majority of your time should be spent on a proven system of duplication. Not something you have to learn that will take six months before it provides meaningful results.

The methods these guys hawk - the ads that flood my inbox every day - the ones I look over, delete and sometimes unsubscribe to - may work for them. But they already have the thriving business with the repeat customers and the huge list. For someone just starting out or even someone with some experience they are just money making ploys for their own ends. Don't trust anyone sending this stuff. Besides if you never buy their stuff they eventually start sending you free info in hopes you will join their team or buy their more expensive miracle products. Thanks for the great post!

There was always that feeling I had when the so called top earners was pushing this and that to their already made big following about social secrets.I really think that's pretty lame myself. I agree 100% about being attractive through some sort of passion you may have.What works for one,May not work for another.I'm tired of seeing the fake stuff, Fake caring that is.

Worthless secrets are worth alot!
I started a facebook group on my specialist subject, did no advertising and got a few highly motivated leads but only a few and in a specialist subject.
You look great in that Sharp suit Diane ;-)
I know a business that is trading full speed ahead and making tons of money and dishing out bonuses to staff ... big ones and they DONT advertise in papers, mags or social media. There face to face and phone relationship developers with high integrity and congruency. See ya.
I think you are correct.
I do not think there is anything that will help you other than yourself. You have to put in the work. Once you make a few sales, the rest will take care of itself... as long as you put in the effort.
I have been running FB ads since before FB Siphon. It does work. It is not magic, it is work.

Facebook Works
I like the article and you make some good points. However, I wouldn't say Facebook is worthless (I guess you are saying the "so-called secrets" are worthless). Facebook is simply a marketing channel. No marketing channels are a magic bullet. Many of them, including Facebook, can work really well when you understand how to use them effectively.
What makes me laugh is when I hear people talking about this "amazing new advertising method", when many of us have been using it for quite some time.

Unfortunately, there are no written rules only unwritten rules and therefore, they will broken constantly. The all mighty dollar bill strikes again.

I am always renewed when I can read information that rings with some reality and truth in it. Thank you Diane, I am still looking for my stride in making the internet marketing flow. Learning that communicating online with people is no different than being with people off line has been a bit of a stretch for me. You're absolutely right about dumping money into something hoping to build a downline. Doesn't work.... I know because I did that several years ago with leads and an autoresponder. Didn't sign up a single person. Leads must be attracted and contacted.
