Why Do You Love to Buy, But Hate Being Sold?
Why do people love going out there and buying all of this new junk, but then again they hate being sold anything at all.
Think about it. Tomorrow you might go shopping at Wal-Mart. You might spend like 200 bucks for the next 2 weeks groceries. On average you spend about 400 bucks a month just on your regular household groceries.
But if today someone came into your house being a sales rep for some company that sold IDENTICAL products as Wal-Mart and wanted to sell you the same exact items that you were going to get tomorrow anyways for 20 bucks less, you would probably shoo him out of your house.
Why?
Why is it that when we take the buying decision away from a person their only reaction is anger and frustration?
They have no problem spending money because they do it every single day, but they have a huge problem buying from us.
That is the dilemma that all salesman and network marketers have to deal with.
But hey now we have the idea of the funded proposal, which I think is more important now than it ever has been.
People just really hate being sold anything at all.
So that is why we are done selling (at least that’s what our prospects think :).
But the real question is why?
Here is the answer.
People want everything to be on THIER terms. People are social beings. It is simply just human nature. They do not want you to make any decision for them.
Think about it.
If I said "hey you, go write me an article for my blog real quick".
You would be like no way, why would I do anything for you.
But now if someday you came across my blog, and I had an announcement on it that I would take the ten best blog posts submitted to me, and put them on my website. And your blog post is allowed to have up to 2 different links that are allowed to link back to your site for free publicity. It is a whole new story. Now all of a sudden I have just given you the choice, and you might except my offer.
So stop selling some product or opportunity that nobody wants to people that hate being sold. And start simply providing information about your product or opportunity to as many people as possible.
Start marketing that opportunity.
It is not about the person with the best product, it is about the person that markets the product the best.
