Will You Still Be A Thriving Networker In A Year ?

Read More: Marketing

I have been in the network marketing waters for about 12 years now and honestly

when my wife and I got involved in our first company we figured we would give it a try just for the heck of it.

We basically did everything our sponsor told us to do,we badgered our family and friends,

We had some home meetings, I listened to lotsa tapes,we tried to make a list of a hundred people we know.

It was quite entertaining for a little while until we ran out of people to invite to our meetings.

Then I began to think to myself and say this has to work, after all I met this Gentleman in church

he wouldn't be pulling the wool over my eyes would he. Well technically I really can't say that it was my sponsors

fault and I really can't blame myself either, after all maybe I'm just not cut out for this business.

I can hear my Mentor Michael's Dlouhy's words everytime I call into our training calls.

Some of the words on his recording say "You are perfect just the way you are, your lack of success is not your fault"

Boy Oh Boy ! You don't how much those words meant to me when I heard them for the first time.

It was music to my ears.  The reason why I wrote this article is because alot of the people that I met on Better Network

when I first started on here a little over a year ago have mysteriously disappeared. I really feel bad for those people it's amazing

Why a difference a little old ebook can make.

I Would Like To Thank Michael and his Wonderful wife Linda Dlouhy and all the others who took part in creating the Mentoring For Free System.

This system has allowed me to Dream again and to some day in the near future I will be able to say.

I Own My Life !

The Blessings are just being poured out to you. I am so happy for you. Live, Love and Laugh. God Bless you in your journey. I am glad you are dreaming again. Your friend always, Therese

Nobody has ever answered this question

Who's fault is it if it's not yours?

The companies? The uplines? The products? If it's not yours it must be one of these. Then you are laying the blame for your own decisions on something or someone else.

Were you forced at gunpoint to join a company or buy leads or talk to your warm market? If so, you still had a choice, you could have taken the bullet.

Unless you can tell me otherwise?

Hey, Steven

As Michael says, "you own your life when you own your mind." You will own your life and your mind. You are well on your way. Congratulations to all of us.

Have you read the e-book, Joyce?

Theresa Garland — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 8:30am

Sure have Theresa

Know it better than you do.

Do you know who's fault it is if it's not yours?

Joyce Penner — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 9:40am

Yes Joyce I Will Be Happy To Answer Your Question :-)

It is quite obvious that you have something against the book Success In 10 Steps that book has helped so many of us to know the Truth, this is why we are here sharing this Great Book with the networking world. Many people come into this business only to have their dreams shattered by the self centered gurus who promise riches through using their systems. What it usually boils down to is they prey upon the newbies that are not quite yet educated in the wiles of the networking industry, So I am on a crusade to promote the ebook that has allowed thousands to see the truth. There are a couple of old sayings that I would like to share with you Joyce, one is from my Favorite Book also know as The Good Book, "You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free" ! and there's another saying that quotes "The Truth Hurts". Now finally to answer your question, your question is, Do you know who's fault it is if it's not yours? It is not the innocent person that ventures out into the networking world to try to earn some extra money to help their financial situation. It is the heartless individuals who are out there selling people there systems that lead to the land of false promises, and it is people like this that have given the networking industry a black eye. If we are going to represent a company we shouldn't focus on dollar signs we should focus on people and their needs after all this is a realtionship building business not a business to earn just a few extra bucks.
I heard a saying the other day by Les Brown, "You can't see the picture when you are in the frame".

May I ask you a question,

How are your relationship building skills Joyce ?

Steven Squillace — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 11:41am

Yes it is NOT your fault : )

Hey Steven, Great article, and I feel the same way you do! YOU are absolutly right. Like you I was happy to know it wasn't my fault. My upline had not provided me with the proper training, nor did they provide me with a duplicatable system. It's really nobody's fault. But education is the KEY. You are well on your way Steven.

Stefanie Sanspree — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 2:53pm

It's the guru's fault ???

That's priceless. You are blaming the gurus? The very ones who have helped thousands attain success i.e. Mike Dillard, Jonathan Budd, Mark Hoverson, Ann Sieg, Todd Falcone to name a few?

"It is the heartless individuals who are out there selling people there systems that lead to the land of false promises, and it is people like this that have given the networking industry a black eye."

So just so I'm clear - it's the ones who own a system who are screwing the people. The ones who offer an affiliate program so even the little guy can make some money as they are building their business that are the cause of your lack of success. Not like the Dlouhy's who don't offer you a cent to promote his ebook?

Now that's irony with a capital I.

And absolutely priceless !
Joyce

p.s. Thanks for being the only one to have the guts to answer this.
p.p.s. I don't build my business they way you do. Pretend to be a friend, offering to hold your hand for free as you move them down your sales funnel. I'm very upfront and honest with my relationships. I'm in business and I teach my team to be business owners as well.

Joyce Penner — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 2:56pm

Steven, you said it yourself...

You said: I heard a saying the other day by Les Brown, "You can't see the picture when you are in the frame".

That's what happened to me. I was soooo in the frame that I couldn't see the picture.

Steven, here's a quick simple question. How many people do you think subscribe to the back office at MFF? 1,000? 2,500? 5,000?

Good For You Joyce !

I am happy for you I wish you much success in your business.

Steven Squillace — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 4:51pm

Congrats Steven !!!

On you upcoming success and your new found FREEDOM. Joyce, it must be your time of the month again as you seem to be on a rampage. However , you have FINALLY got the picture....The reason why you were never successful in Mentoring For Free is because you had to "Pretend" to be someones friend. You went about it all wrong !! It is only when you truly care about the other persons success ahead of your own, are compassionate and caring, that is where a true relationship builds and then there is no pretending.

Zelphina Pierson — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 5:01pm

Thank You Zelphina !

I'm sure wouldn't want to get on your bad side. lol

Steven Squillace — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 5:36pm

Good Article and Great Book!

Thanks for the article Steven. Just an observation on the "fault" question. Maybe the compensation plan wasn't right for you. Possible the timing or the business model were wrong. But I am glad that you are in a system that you like and feel so positive about. Keep up the good work!

Timothy Burns — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 8:53pm

Wahooo Steve, glad to see

Wahooo Steve, glad to see that you are free. DON'T DEBATE WITH THE SILLY PEOPLE that have sent negative replies to your article. They are not worth your time, thought or energy. Continue to do what you do Steve!

Vikki Lawson — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 9:17pm

Hey Zelphina - there you go assuming again ! Wow !

"The reason why you were never successful in Mentoring For Free is because you had to "Pretend" to be someones friend."

I was a Diamond in Vitamark in less than a year. Don't think anyone else can claim that distinction on this forum, can they? So once again there is an assumption going on with a personal comment on top of that.

What does the days of the month have to do with running a successful business?

I asked Steven and probably all the rest of you who's fault is it if it's not your own.

It was a simple question, Steven answered it and now we know: It's Mike Dillards, Mike Filsaimes, Ann Siegs, Mark Hoversons, Todd Falcones, Jonathan Budds fault that you guys weren't successful.

Shame on them when they have millionaires coming out of their systems and you weren't one of them. Something must be wrong but it's not your fault, no sir. Got to be their fault.

A rampage? Nope, just hate seeing people getting sucked into a system that encourages hard working people to start a business and do everything for free when they could be operating a successful business, providing for and feeding their families.

Which none of you can do in MFF no matter how much you pretend success has arrived at your door.

And Zelphina, I am the sole supporter of my children and I live off my network marketing/internet activities. My kids have all the toys they could ever want, they are both taking horse back riding lessons at $40/hr. each, they are involved in swimming, Tae Kwon Do, and skating. None of them cheap activities. I've flown to Vegas and Alberta both in the last 2 months. I feed, house and clothe my kids off my business.

Can any of you say the same?

If I didn't care deeply for people I'd let them get sucked into your free BS. Instead I teach people how to run a business so they too can achieve the same success I have.

My kids deserve it and spending hours hoping someone would "like" me enough to "join" me wasn't bringing in the income they deserved and I needed to provide. Maybe I just care more for my family than you do, don't know, but that was my immediate motivation and always will be.

Hello Brother Steven!!! Great Article My Friend!!!

Hi Brother Steven,

Without encouragement and a definate purpose in life we not have a prayer.

Thank you for stepping past the muck of life. As I post in a previous article.

What if Noah would have stopped just because it had not rained ever on the earth.

People where laughing, ridiculing and just calling him a fool. But what happened when the rain started to fall. They where banging on the door let me in we are drowning.

Steven, your inspiration will save those who are drowning that where nae sayers from the start.

Keep up the great work my friend. You are awesome!!!

Have a Blessed Evening,

Danny & Laura

Danny & Laura J... — Sat, 09/18/2010 - 9:55pm

Joyce, i like how you think

Joyce, i like how you think and your sucess, but I also like what MFF is doing... FREE conference mentoring 2-3times a day...5days aweek!!!
it's a place I feel confortable sending my people too without woring about losing them!

Company... (Not upline) should learn from MFF... becuase the answer to the question,,, who's fault is it is..... are you ready???

IT'S THE COMPANY!!! mostly... the company should invest....invest...invest in developing a system where newbe can succed... or at least have better chance to succed.
For example::: marketing and advertising... company should provide affordable co-op cost to newbie so they can get leads. I'm not talking about your upline is doing co-op...I'm talking about company actually hire somone who knows how to generante serious leads and distribute those leads(at cost) to newbie.

to my opption.... who's fault is it that most fail? I blame the company for overlooking the newbie

Thank You for your comment John,
I Appreciate your Honesty !

Have A Great Week My Friend !

If We Don't Stand For Something We Will Fall For Anything !

Thank You For Your Comment My Brother !

Another Reason I Am So Greatful For The Mentoring For Free System Is Because It Allows Me To Become Lifetime Friends With Wonderful People Like You Danny And Your Wonderful Wife Laura And So Many Other People Using Our System That Are Willing To Help Each Other Because We Care About Each Other.
That's What Mentoring For Free Was Designed To Do :-)

Steven Squillace — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 7:05am

Steven, here's a math question...

I'm not sure either how many people pay their $20 a month to MFF, but just for arguments sake say 1,500, no, drop it to an even 1,000 people. OK? My math says $20 x 1000 = $20,000. So, your efforts to bring people into the MFF fold benefits whom? Who gets that money?

RICK

Rick Lelchuk — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 1:29pm

Hmmm

Rick you knew the answer to the first question,
Hmmm let me see I'm quessing you already know the answer to the second question.

Steven Squillace — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 4:48pm

Nope

"That's What Mentoring For Free Was Designed To Do :-)"

MFF was designed to create an income for Michael Dlouhy and as Rick pointed out that's one of the things that's within the picture and can't be seen unless you are outside the frame.

John: Be careful about sending your people there unless you are already in Vitamark. MFF is a sales funnel for Vitamark and eventually someone on your team will come back and ask you about your P&Ps and your comp plan and they may even share stories of what your company has done to their reps.

And John - Success will be elusive until you realize YOU are responsible for your success - no one or nothing else.
Joyce

Joyce Penner — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 4:56pm

Ok Joyce You've Made Your Point !

Can you answer this question for me Joyce,
What about the frienships that I have made with the people that are in Mentoring For Free. I'm talking about the ones that are not making any money from me being there, as I said earlier Joyce Network Marketing is a relationship building business, I don't know what methods you are using Joyce, but I am quite happy with the system that I am using in Mentoring For Free, and if I don't receive any benefits from using this system at least I have made some very nice friends.

Steven Squillace — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 6:16pm

Great Article !

You must know my friend, that with success comes HATERS. Just shake them off. You know who you are & what you want. You see, some people aren't happy even when they make good money online(and it shows). That's not success. You are a leader in training with a passion to help others. Thanks for your articles.

Chinna Liddell — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 7:37pm

Steven

"and if I don't receive any benefits from using this system at least I have made some very nice friends."

That's one of the big problems Steven. People are online, starting a network marketing business so they can save their homes/feed their kids/get out of bankruptcy and you are teaching them how to make friends instead of how to make money. Do you see what's wrong with this picture now?

And Chinna I do have a clue - I have a big clue. I know how that system works from the inside out. So don't assume I don't know what I am talking about.
Joyce

Joyce Penner — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 7:40pm

Steven... Chinna... and all in MFF

You misinterpret what Joyce and I are really all about and what is being said.

I will speak for myself. I have had experience with MFF and Michael that you have not. The purpose of attempting to point out certain things to you is to have you see the other side of "the truth is the truth is the truth" before it is too late for you.

Both Joyce and I spent many months in MFF and I can appreciate certain aspects of what was taught, but there are things that you can't possibly know that cast a shadow on your leader. It's not a matter of hatred; it is a matter of pointing out the things you can't see. I could not see them either when I was on the inside. It wasn’t until I stepped back and observed that I knew it was time to move on.

When I decided to move on my wife and I were humiliated, dishonored and degraded on a national call. He besmirched our integrity and lied about us. Some of our true friends called to let us know. Some of our other kinds of friends (none of whom ever called to get our side of the story) wanted to have nothing to do with us. Some went above and beyond to let us know just how despicable they thought we were.

All we did was choose to leave, end our participation in MFF and Vitamark. That is all. We didn’t take anyone with us, we didn’t bad mouth anyone, we just decided to leave. It was a hard time for my wife and I. We had placed our trust, spent our precious time and effort and what was returned was unearned vehemence.

Steven, and all of you in MFF, take all the good teachings you can get and truly BEGIN to think for yourselves.

Rick Lelchuk — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 8:48pm

Ok Joyce I'd Like To Know The Truth !

I just read Rick's story now would you mind sharing with our community
what happened to you ?

Steven Squillace — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 9:50pm

Excellent Point

You definitely own your mind and your own thoughts. You do not listen to other peoples programming!!

Lawrence_Bergfeld (not verified) — Sun, 09/19/2010 - 10:08pm

Steven, Amen!!

Steven, I will be successful. But MONEY is not the most important thing for me. I am successful within my heart and that is me. I like to teach, give value continuously for free, in hopes that someone might be able to use my value. I truly enjoy MFF Members. If I can take anything from MFF, it is there commmunity's support, mentoring, relationships, along with the skills.
