Meet Mr Abundance...Part 1

Read More: Mindset

In an amazing place called New York, where people are busy as always with their life, you'll see a tall light grey building. If you move in a little more towards the window, of a busy office, you'll hear the calls the sales people are making.

You'll hear the different pitches, the different styles and a different kind of hunger. The rustling of paper as it is crunched because of a no sale. The snap of a phone and also, a bell ringing due to another sale has been made.

As you go right into the window and past the reception and the first five sales people who are hammering on the phone - you'll see a man in a blue trousers, white shirt and a loose red tie, pacing back and forth as he tries to close the deal.

His name is Steve. Keep your eyes on him for a moment.

The manager's office door opens and..

"Steve, can I speak to you for a moment in my office?"
"Yeah, sure Dave. Let me just make this call."
"Steve, I need to speak to you now please."

Everyone stops. They know Steve worked hard and they know, he has one dream. Just one and the most precious dream it is for him. It's not a car, mansion or anything most may think. This dream is an amazing one for someone he knows and loves dearly.

Maybe, just maybe, his time is about to come.

The door closed and Dave was having a difficult time saying what he wanted to say.

"Steve, you've done a great job you know. Well, how can I say this?"
"I'm getting a promotion aren't I? I knew it. I was just thinking.."
"Steve, let me finish mate."
"Yeah, sure go ahead."

A moment of silence entered the room..

"I got to let you go Steve. I'm really sorry.."
"But why? I can sell more and.."
"I know mate but you saw this coming.."
"But Dave.."
"Look Steve, my hands are tied. Management have decided. There's nothing I can do. I'm sorry."

Steve got up, shook Steve's hand and walked out of the office. Angry, puzzled and dissappointed. He walked to his desk and felt all eyes were staring at him. He packed the photo of his daughter and some books.

He only made $600 coming for this month and hasn't sold enough to make ends meet for the rent and everything else that was about to come.

No one said anything as Steve walked out of the building. Not an embrace, not a goodbye. Nothing.

They knew, that they might be next. They kept hammering the phones to get the next sale and will call him later on.

Steve was unsure what to do with his life but this wasn't the biggest concern for him. As he steps into the elevator, he wondered about the promise he made to his daughter.

It was only last week that he dropped her at his ex-wife's house. Someone that has made her mind up that he never made it happen in his life and he never will. There is no one to blame. He knew this and so did his ex-wife.

It just didn't go right for Steve.

The promise replayed in his mind of the promise:

"Well Jenny, next month we're going to Paris!"
"Yes! You hear that mum! I'm going to paris. Woohooo!"

He also remember's what his ex-wife said:

"Steve, you know you shouldn't promise like that."
"Why? I got a job now and it be fine."
"Look, first get the money and then.."
"It be fine."
"Steve! You always do this. You make promises and it doesn't go right. You're..."

"You Cannot Hold A Torch To Light Another Path
Without Lightening Your Own" -
Ben Sweetland

He heard the same words from his own father, his teachers, his mother and everyone else. No one said what he did right but what he did  wrong. He did all he could. He tried and worked hard but again, he felt like a failure.

What could he say to his daughter now and how can he pick her up with his ex-wife there. Especially with what he promised and the last argument?

It couldn't get any worse. Well, that's what he thought, until he stared at his clamped car.

Of all the days for it happen, it had to be on the day he just wanted to get away fast.

His shoulders felt heavy and the clouds in the sky are not looking great for Steve. He starts walking and searching for a bus stop.

It takes him one hour and just when he finds a bus shelter, it begins to rain and that's when he just let's go. He's had enough. He throws the box on the floor and the photo of his daughter falls and he hears the glass break.

It's one gift in life that can only calm him down. In that moment he breaks down and wonders how he'd fulfill the promise he made.

"Every damn time I feel I am close to winning, something happens. And..at the wrong time. I can't believe this."

Ten minutes passes and still no bus has arrived. An old man steps into the bus shelter and takes a seat.

"When is this bus coming! Why they always take long!"

“We are all faced with a series of  great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” - Charles R. Swindoll

The old man doesn't say a word and just sits there. Steve calmed himself down again and turned to see the old man staring down at the box.

"Sorry mate. I'm just having one of those days."
"No problem. You...moving out?"
"Nah. I lost my job."
"Ah, I see."
"It came at the wrong time. That's all." Says Steve.
"I don't know if it's any help but I know a friend who might be of some help to you. You should call him."
"You mean for a job?"
"You'll have to chat to him. He's always doing something and, he always gets what he wants out of life. Very successful."

"Yeah? Well, I may need some of that." Replies Steve.

The bus arrives and he grabs the box.

"Here, take this card. Call him and see what he can do for you. Just tell him it's from Law."
"Law?"
"Yes, Law."

Life, it is an amazing thing. For some of us, it brings opportunities and we may see it. For others, well, they are too busy knocking it down. For Steve, he just wanted to make his daughter happy. That's all.

Arriving home, he sees fresh new letters on the rug. More bills to pay and $600 isn't going to pay for all of them.

He leaves the letters and places the box on the table and stepped into the kitchen.

The solution for now is a cuppa tea.

As the kettle boils, he takes out the business card from his pocket. It doesn't say much about what the company is or the services the company provides.

Abundance? What kind of company is this? Thought Steve.

"The harder you fall, the higher you bounce." - Unknown

He picks up the home telephone but it wasn't working. It got disconnected. He gets his mobile and just when he was about to dial the number he stalls.

He stares at the business card and wonders if it's a good idea but then, he sees his daughter's face and remember's his promise.

He dials the number...

"Hello this is Abundance. How Can I help?"
"Hi, my name is Steve and I wondered if you can tell me what do you do because someone gave your business cards and told me you got quiet a lot going on.

So I thought to call and first see what you do."

"Well, it's true. Like any business, I have products and services."
"Yeah but.."

"Steve...Like I said, I have a business that runs products and services like any other business. Now, I like to know what help you need and what you want and then, if I see it's worth my time, and I got something right for you, then we  meet and we can talk more about my business. So, we can continue on the phone or we don't continue as though you never called. Want do you want to choose Steve?"

"Circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him."- Wayne Dyer

For a moment, Steve didn't know what to say. He didn't know what the business was about but the way the man talked, he sounded professional and of strong character.

Well, at least he isn't trying to sell me anything. He's asking what I want, which is new and different from the method I and other sales people used.

"Ok Abundance, I want to make money, either a job or freelance. I got to make money in 30 days and it has to be legit, legal."
"Well that depends on you and how well you do. First, why you want to make money. Whats your reason Steve? I need to know why I should spend time helping you....get what you want?"

Jeesh, is this guy for real? He's not making it any easy for me.

"Cause I got fired today and I got bills in front of my steps and my own home phone disconnected. And I got rent that's coming in 30 days. If I don't pay it, I am out. So I need to know what business you're doing and see for my own eyes."
"Well Steve, we can come to that later. First we meet and I got questions to ask first. Let me look at my diary."
"Can't we make it soon! Maybe.."
"Well, hang on now. Let me see my dairy as I am a busy person. Maybe you get lucky, eh?"
"Yeah sure." Replies Steve,

Steve waits and wonders what he's got himself into but like one of his friends once said,

"You don't judge anything until you get the full facts. You can always say yes or no.

"Ok Steve, we can meet.."
"I really need to meet as soon as possible."
"Well, my diary says, I can meet you now."
"Now?" Replies Steve."
"Yes, now."
"Well, I don't understand because how can you meet me now?"
"Oh, like this."

Suddenly, Steve felt a feeling he felt before. A powerful feeling of certainty. A feeling that he could achieve anything and there was nothing to fear.

The way he use to feel as a kid.

His gut feeling urged him to turn around and as he turned, he stared into a world full of possiblities. There was no end and or begining. There was no overcoming or fear. There was only discovery and a richness beyond his wildest dreams.

There was only the mighty space. It is where new stars are born and worlds that he never thought existed..

"Hello Steve. My name is Abundance. You called. How can I help?"

I liked it

Usually I don't like long articles or stories, but yours kept me reading.  Looking forward to the next one.

Have you ever thought of writing a book?  An ebook.  :)

Thanks!

Thanks.....

Thanks

Christopher. Glad you liked it. It came to me as an idea, to write online, at BN, let it flow from my mind without preparing anything. Usually I prepare everything in what I am doing especially marketing, and have system ready, the works but this time, I wanted to just write and let it flow.

Lynn, I do understand what you mean about long articles. I have a habit of writing long articles but glad you enjoyed this one. Yes, maybe, I will have it as an ebook. I really don't know as yet as I know, when I finish things, something happens. It brings possibilities beyond what I
have imagined.

Espereta, cheers mate. Sorry about the halt at end hahaha. I like leaving people curious.

I'll leave a link at end of the story when next one is done, so it's easy to follow for others too. It be uploaded on BN anyway, so you can see my profile when it is uploaded.
