Mentoring For Free is a Scam!
Mentoring For Free is a Scam!
That is what someone said to me the other day. Got me thinking. If it is a scam then it should be exposed!
MFF is founded by Michael Dlouhy. I have Googled Michael Dlouhy's name and put the word scam by him and found nothing derogatory about Michael. That is a good sign.
The successful network marketer's use attraction marketing as a way to generate leads. Mentoring For Free uses the Free e-book Success in Ten Steps to generate leads. So if that makes MFF a scam then are all the affiliate marketing programs(Magnetic sponsoring, Spiderweb Marketing, Renegade Marketing, Carbon Copy Pro to name a few) also scams? In a word no. If you have checked any of these programs out I am sure you have found that they offer a system of generating leads that will/may join you in your Network Marketing Opportunity. No sign of scam here.
MFF host ten Free training calls each week, and No products or Companies are mentioned on these calls. They only focus on the skills necessary to make you a better networker. Can't see a scam here.
Mentoring For Free also has a huge library of recorded training calls that members can access and share with people who have questions regarding, Pay per Click, Google ad words, or blog writing and posting for maximum exposure. If you have a question on building your business it is answered by someone who has done it and now explains how you can do it. You can also access the person who did it and they are willing to give you their time. But it is still free. I am not the sharpest knife in the draw but I still don't see a scam here.
Is everything free? No. I pay for the e-book to be branded in my name. $20 a month. I have a back office to track my progress. I have 8 websites that I can send people to to capture their information.
Did I have to join MFF to learn from Michael and all the other great coaches in Mentoring For Free? No! But after listening to the free information, that was made available to me, I found that it was a great organization. They would help me grow MY business. MFF even showed me how to anilyze a company by reading the Policy and Procedure manual. Have you read yours? Don't feel bad if you haven't. Many don't. It's just the Legal contract between you and the company. I never read one before and have been in three different companies. Sill no Scam here.
Mentoring for Free also has taught about the personality colors. How to identify what type of personality you are talking with, so when you talk you are speaking Their language. Free again!
No scam.
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me what Network Marketing company I am in I would be able to retire. Okay, that is an exaggeration. But often on coaching calls I am asked what company I am in and I tell them I am looking to help them build their business. Because I am.
That is what I have been taught. It makes perfect sense. If you help enough people get what they want then you will be rewarded in the end. I think Zig Ziglar said that. Still not seeing a scam.
Well then what is the deal? How do I get paid? Many of the other "attraction marketing" companies allow you to sell their program and get paid after someone purchases the system. This allows them to earn while the build. I felt that the information in MFF was greater than what I heard in the sales pitches on their capture pages. And Found that buying another program to compliment the last one was just a little out of my budget. Was I working to create an extra income or find another expense? But the Number one reason I went with Mentoring For Free is Micheal Dlouhy.
He has many , many friends. And a few people who don't like him. But I challenge anyone to call Michael a Liar, Crook, Scammer, Cheat, Dishonest, or any other derogatory word or phrase. It will not stick! He is the definition of a Servant. He wants to help people. He teaches you How to think, Not what to think. There is no Scam here. Just good people following the lead of a Big Hearted man helping as many people as they can , become free.

Mentoring for Free is A Scam
It scamed me out of 19.95 a month and I now have over 200 leads that love hearing from me WHAT A SCAM.
Your friend for life Juanita Waterman
Scam is too harsh a word
But the education (learning how to read the P&Ps, comp plans etc.) is only to point out to everyone else they are in a "bad" company and VM is the only one worth getting involved with. That is deceitful and self-serving. So is it a scam - no ! But it does make you question the integrity of being a "mentor" when you have an agenda to lead them to VM and all other companies are "bad". What's wrong with just being upfront and telling people this is the lead generation system you use to build Vitamark?
That would be honest and upfront.
To your success,
Joyce Penner
Well said!
Timothy,
You did an awesome job of laying out what Mentoring For Free is all about. Makes me want to join. Oops, except I already did. It makes me once again realize why I did in the first place!
I was in another "lead generating" system but it was costing me about $70.00 a month, so why would I keep using that one when I can learn the same things through Mentoring For Free for the $20.00 you mentioned above? Plus, the Mastermind team is awesome.
A bonus, if you choose to participate in Mentoring For Free is the Mental Cleanse that helps to clear out the chatter in our minds, think right and begin to own our life. It's almost like a self improvement program with a compensation plan attached.
Hey, bottom line is, find a system, a team or a program that works for you and support it!

Who is this "someone", Timothy?
During a two-year study of journalism, I learned the importance and the value of clarity and factual reporting. My eyes are trained to immediately pick up on vague, unsubstantiated information. So, does this "someone" actually exist, Timothy? The person who told you MentoringForFree is a scam?
Although this is not a news story and you are not a reporter, why not give this "someone" a voice and invite him or her into the conversation? Allow this individual the opportunity to share why he or she feels MentoringForFree is a scam. There must be a reason, correct?
To make bold accusations is one thing. To back them up with facts is another. I, for one, would certainly appreciate hearing the other person's viewpoint - the other side of the story. Otherwise, you're offering a very slanted version of the issue.
Is MentoringForFree a scam? Absolutely Not! I had the privilege and the joy of learning the most incredibly phenomenal lessons on "trust" from Richard Dennis on his Tuesday afternoon MFF calls. He did an entire series of exemplary presentations based on Stephen R. Covey's, "The Speed of Trust" and "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People". It's worth every minute of your time to listen to the recorded replays if you haven't done so already.
In closing, I believe that 98-99 percent of marketers using the MentoringForFree system are building a business with Vitamark International. I think it's perfectly all right to just let folks you speak to know that right up front. And I wish each and every Vitamark team member tremendous success.
Invite friends into your life and your business through the front door, not the back door.

Thanks for commenting Joyce.
The Policy and Procedure and comp plans is not to point out how bad your company is, Better get in Vitamark. I was on a training call Saturday 3-21-09. Michael asked Richard to read a letter from a company he was involved with a few years back and they informed him the were no longer going to pay him for his business. It was sick. He built his business to about $40000.00 a month and they just said thanks and bye-bye. In his Policy and Procedures it stated they can decide not to renew a distributor for any reason at renewal time. If he had read the P & P he might not have been involved with them or he may have asked them to take that clause out. The people on the call were from many different companies. I am sure they have read their P & Ps by now. If they decide they are in a bad company or a company that is not giving them a fair chance and they ask what company you are in what should we do? Point them in the direction of the phone book and tell them look under MLM and start at A. Of course not. If you think that you can work with them you may share your opportunity with them. Not all the people in MFF are in Vitamark. There are many companies out there that have 5 pillars. Not only Vitamark.
I know I have Never heard Michael say all other companies are bad. When did you hear him say that?
Joyce, I am sure you and I can agree on some points and disagree on some. I agree 100% about your praise of Michael Dlouhy on the Business Models drive the Behavior in the Field. http://tinyurl.com/c9wv82 So I thank you for the comment and keep up the good work.

Great Article Timothy
I said pretty much what you just said (in your last comment) in a comment on Randy's recent article.
If people use the 5 Pillars's method to research their company and find something that they are not comfortable with and decide to switch companies, how is that wrong? How is that deceptive and misleading? If anything... the system has just saved that person from quite possibly spending years and years building a good business only to have the rug pulled out from under them in the end.
When I was doing my research (I typed MLM and Network Marketing into a google search and went down the list) trying to find a 5 pillar company I went through the policies and procedures of about 30 companies and every single one of them had that clause. It was very discouraging.
But I feel grateful that MFF has taught me about these things before I joined a company. In fact, the company I was considering joining failed on all counts... and it cost a lot to join and the comp plan was not designed for the newbie. In fact, I doubt many people are making money in that company. They charge money to participate in their mentoring system (which is probably where all of their commissions come from and not the product) and if you want to use a mentoring system like Magnetic Sponsoring or MFF, you have to submit it to them and have it approved (WTH????).
As far as I'm concerned, MFF saved me from a huge disaster because I would not have even thought to look at their policies until I learned about the 5 Pillars for your Success.
Renee
Thank you Renee
Your story is refreshing to hear! I am glad that MFF taught you to do the Due Diligence before joining a company.

???
i always thought that to mentor someone meant to offer advice, teach, to mold an individual through years of knowledge which eventually results in the wisdom it takes to teach the next person amd so on and so forth. The only things a person ever pays the mentor to be mentored is time. Years. in fact decades. albeit in such a fast paced :( society that we live I can see Many mentors spawned over just a few years.
to be mentored, in my opinion, as with mentoring another, the thought of charging money would Never arise. we're all adults here aren't we? so just between us it's ok to say that using the self-endowed title mentor is actually a misuse of the defination of the word.
for all intents and purposes trainers train, and some get paid a freakin' lot of money for it. think about how quickly Dillard's live training sold out. 5 grand a seat and in 48 hours they were all bought up.
Yikes!!!
Mentorship in MFF comes with decades of experience
The mastermind of people with many decades of combined experience is what your plugging into with MFF. You don't get that anywhere else, certainly not by attending a Mike Dillard seminar, and the difference is its free. Two years of archived trainings, what do you want to know? Many who are skilled in a specific area, will teach anyone! So get out your credit card and pay for your education, its your money!
No one here will tell you you're in a bad company, but will educate you on how to evaluate your own opportunity, or lack of one. They will point you to the truth, its there for anyone who seeks it out. If you then come to me and say, I'm not getting paid enough, and heres why, it takes 2000 people to do what you can do with 300, why is that? We'll go through the facts and discover why that is.
No, there isn't many 5 Pillar companies out there, I've only seen one to date, so if that person asks me to show them one, I'll tell them where to look, and let them evaluate it the same, with their new found education. No big secret!
The 98% failure rate is unacceptable to me, and to many out there who are sick and tired of being used, abused, and taken advantage of. If you're in a 5 Pillar company please bring it to the table, thats what we want to see, more companies either get it or go under. Well intentioned people are fed up, and once they learn the ropes, they're not going to take it anymore. The times they are a changing!
