Misconceiving Blogging

All businesses have one thing in common; they need customers. In order to attract customers businesses need to continually change and evolve to adapt new ways of thinking to build relationships with new and faithful customers.

Enter the Weblog. Weblogs or blogs are a form of ‘self-publishing’ used by millions to express their ideas and opinions to the world. Most recently small businesses and corporate entities have begun to recognize that blogging is an untapped medium for speaking to and resolving issues with their customer base but not a day goes by that I don’t hear about some form of resistance to a given business starting a blog. Blogs are just teenage diaries for the Internet voyeur - With the rise of Myspace, LiveJournal and social networks who attempt to mimic them, blogging and the online social media has been type cast in a major way. While teenagers adopted the use of blogs before businesses, books such as Naked Conversations, started to change the minds of small business owners and corporate businesses alike. Only Bloggers Read Blogs – Well yes, of course bloggers read blogs. They read each other’s work, link to one another and contribute to this delicious web we call the Internet. Think about it. Each of those links creates a way for your potential customers to find you. Many people read blogs, in fact, it is common for someone to find your blog, read it, and not know it was a blog. This to shall pass - I would be hard pressed to count how many times I’ve heard that blogs are just a fad or fling. However, I beg to differ. Bloggers and business blogging has been picking up momentum over the last several years and is a valid form of talking to your customers. These are just a few examples of the judgments placed on the shoulders of a blog. I have seen what blogging can do for a business—namely my own. Take care when considering blogging as an option for your business. Be sure that it is right for you and your business before starting one, then start reading more blogs, start your own and begin the learning process.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To blog or not to blog

I'm all for it! We have so many opportunities to create attraction... and a blog is only one way. I get to explore my creative writing side on my Blog and that is one of my passions.... so the more I work in my passions, the easier it is for me to attract.
