MLM Downlines are you chasing them

Are you chasing your new downline members? I would say up until the early to mid 90's, network marketing was pretty much done face to face or perhaps by a post card or a physical letter of some sort. Presentations were usually done at a prospects kitchen table with a small flip chart.

Some of those methods would be considered old school networking. But in those days if you signed up 50 people, odds were, you met them face to face and most likely had a more loyal downline or customer base.

With the internet and the automated stream lined sponsoring systems of today, getting new downline members to join your company is much easier. But there is a price to pay. The internet combined with these recruiting systems has basically made the world your prospecting field, but the odds now that you will have met or even know your downline members is very low and therefore therefore downline loyalty is also low.

The ease of joining a new company online from a lap top has certainly caused downlines to explode over night, but the productivity of those new members is a different story.

As a network marketer, you may wonder why a new member would join, buy products and even get on autoship but yet never sponsor a single person or even try. You'll be tempted to chase that new member, trying to put a spark under them in hopes of producing a sponsoring monster. You'll send them emails, maybe call them, maybe even sign members up under them. In almost all of the cases where I tried to these, to get a lazy downline member to take action in their business, it did not work.

So what can you do about the lazy downline member, the answer is nothing. What you can do is be a leader, someone who is there ready to help the new member, but only and I mean only if they ask for it. Don't spend your time on those who have no real interest in building a successful business. Like I mentioned above, you will have members who join and perhaps upgrade, but have never made the descion to build their own business.

Bottom line: don't chase new downline members, fill the funnel with more.
