MLM Financial Success: Determination is the Opposite of Despair (Part 4 of 4)

Listening is most often the key to helping others. A very good leader - when working with someone - is focused on that person and working with what is directly in front of him or her.

'I got into MLM about 3 months ago and it has since become my passion in life. I love the company I am with and know first-hand that the products work. I went from 226 pounds down to 190 in 2 months and I have reduced my blood pressure so I don't have to take those stupid pills anymore.' I hate saying that I am getting nowhere but I am struggling and getting very frustrated. I am at the point where I want to give up but the thought of that breaks my heart.'

The word 'empower' is often over-used in our industry, but this is one of those moments when it applies so well to our 'struggling' downline member, John.

This is when we need to suggest to John that he substitute his feeling of desperation for Determination. John will feel better about himself and his situation in life and business if he turns around his feeling of struggle into a sense of opportunity and challenge.

Here is John's Big Opportunity: He is a walking Testimonial - and we all know how much easier it is to 'sell yourself' when you are a product success story. Teach John to relate his story from the heart to his prospects who are overweight and/or have high blood-pressure issues. Remind him that loosing 31 pounds is no small feat and he should congratulate himself.

His 'true' story is both powerful and inspiring.

His tale of 'woe is me' is not inspiring and will push people so far away from him that HE WILL eventually quit his MLM business, just like he said would.

This example is just one of many we have heard and possibly experienced ourselves on our journey in Network Marketing. It is almost universal in this industry that the more you change and improve yourself, the greater your success in your business and in your life.

Many distributors experiencing frustration and struggle like John feel that they are not deserving - be it of happiness, health, money, love, etc. As important as it is to understand how the words we choose and thoughts we think affect our external reality and what we manifest, we also need to connect with our 'spiritual' side - be it source, spirit, connection or whatever you call it.

One of the most important books ever written on understanding this connection is, "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay. Louise teaches that we are deserving of all the love and abundance that we believe we can achieve in our own lives.

Louise offers an exercise to increase your feeling of deserving abundance several times a day. You sit down with your arms stretched way out to the side of your body (as if you were to give someone the biggest hug) and you say:

"I am open and receptive to all the good and abundance in the universe."

Try this out and do so every day, several times a day (in private) for three weeks. This exercise is sure to give you a greater feeling of 'expansion'.

Light shines down upon you if you open fully your eyes and heart to the abundance of the universe.
