5 Things to Look for in an MLM Company (or any business venture)

Everyday people are looking for new ways to make money and increase their worth by starting their own business. The only problem with that is according to the Small Business Association, 80 percent of all new businesses fail within their first 5 years. This forces people to look into other ventures with companies that already have some type of presence in the market place. Most of these companies are Multi Level Marketing companies often referred to as MLM. There are many people who succeed in MLM and there are even more people who fail with MLM companies. So before you join any MLM opportunity, here are the top 5 things to look for in an MLM company.

1. A Well Recognized Brand

A big mistake that is often made my MLM affiliates are they try to create the demand for their company’s product instead of joining a company that already has a large demand for their product in their industry. By joining a company with a well recognized brand you put yourself in the position to work on finding the people who already want your product and less time “convincing” people that they need it.

2. A Profitable Compensation Plan

In any business venture it’s fairly easy to make money, however the difficult part is making a profit. You don’t work for the money, you work for the profit. So your company needs to have the type of compensation plan that over shadows your expenses. I highly recommend a compensation plan that is a top tier opportunity with residual income potential, and the ability to get compensated for the success of your down line. I also recommend a company that doesn’t require up sales to your up line or sponsor. Most people get discouraged and end up losing their motivation when they make their first couple of sales and have to pass up the profits to their sponsor.

3. Marketing Training

Without good training you are literally on your own. So training is very important especially for people new to sales or any commission based industry.

You want an MLM company that provides:
• Comprehensive audio/video training library
• Marketing plans for variable budgets and levels of experience
• Traditional and contemporary marketing techniques
• Frequent education webinars and tele-seminars (I prefer weekly)
• Daily Entrepreneurial and Mindset Training

4.  Support
     This is a no brainer. There’s no use of joining an MLM company if you can’t contact anybody for support when things aren’t working the way they’re supposed to.  You want to be able to have the option to obtain support via email, telephone, and sometimes even live chat for those really quick questions. Your MLM Company should also provide you with at least one mentor that you can refer to at a moments notice regarding any help you need or any progress you’ve made.

5. A Customizable System That You Can Personally Brand Yourself With
At the end of the day people don’t want to work with companies, they want to work with people. Your MLM Company should have a system in place that you can personalize and put your own spin on it. By branding yourself you will be more attractive to qualified prospects for your business and in turn you will be well on the road to becoming a top producer. It’s as simple as this; all top producers became top producers because they personally branded themselves first.
