I am sure your have heard the horror stories of the many folks who have lost it all.  Or the one whose company they were in went belly up without any warning. Or, a very common one, the excited people all hyped up in the pre launch, only to see it fizzle.

Then there are those who were terminated from their company for no apparent reason, or the one who got sick, couldn’t work for a couple months and therefore lost her paycheck.

My goodness how do you protect yourself from these awful circumstances ever happening to you?  How do you find out if a company is reputable?  What about the leadership…who are they, have they done this before, are they crooks?

Before you join any network marketing company it’s imperative that you check the background of the company leadership to be certain they have the necessary MLM experience and that they are people of integrity who won’t scam you.  A simple Google search will often reveal some surprising things.

Failing to do a background check is a common mistake made by many, and could be fatal to your business.  Many times people get caught up in the hype and jump in and have no clue about what to check out before joining.

How do you know your company  has leaders with integrity?  It’s very simple.  Be sure you read their company Policies & Procedures.  Then you will know.  I am guilty of this myself.  Not wanting to take the time to read all the fine print, I have just checked the box and moved on.  Mistake.  I know better now.

Beware of the companies who change their P&Ps, adding phrases like…..”ongoing sales”, “ongoing recruiting”, “a continuous”, “regular meetings”, “you cannot retire”.  (Even though they have promoted early retirement as one of the main benefits of their business!}

Some of these companies have come in the backdoor like robbers in the night, setting them selves up purposing to steal from you.

Another frustration for many is learning about the compensation plan after they have joined the company instead of before.  Wouldn’t it be better to chose a company where you can make some great money so you can be excited about bringing other people on board with you.  Why would you want to convince someone else to join you if it was going to take them 2000 plus people to make $10,000 a month instead of 400?

Take notice, your Policies & Procedures and compensation plan are 2 main ingredients that determine your success.   Don’t be taken by surprise!

Need some educating about the industry and this business model?

Do your homework before joining any MLM Company and be sure to investigate the one you are in.

Wishing your all the best on your journey!

Straight Simple & To The Point!

This is a great article full of knowledge and wisdom, I can feel your heart through this article. Sometimes taking time out to read 10-20 pages can be overwhelming, hard to understand, and very time consuming. It's a lot easier to just check the box, get started, and get back to it later, especially when the presentation was just full captivating dream selling. Thank you Lynn for your words of wisdom...

We wouldn't even finance a car...

...without reading the terms of the contract and BEFORE we obligate ourselves to a comparatively short-term expenditure. Yet we "spend" our most precious asset - our time - working under a contract we haven't even read - without a second thought! It is important to keep getting the word out.

Great Information Lynn

We research the purchase of most of the items in our homes and when we grocery shop we read the labels but when we join a network marketing company we just jump right in. This is great advice and will save many people from failure and frustration. Thank Lynn!

Making A Serious Income Takes A Serious Mind~

It truly blows my mind Lynn when I see so many who join network marketing to make a pile of residual income but who don't treat it like they just invested a million dollars. Is a 10-20K monthly income worth making sure our contract is safe and there is no gottcha clauses to come bite us in the butt down the road? Your article hit the nail on the head Lynn. Thank you for this excellent write, keep them coming!
