Official Avon Review and Business Overview
An Avon review is not complete without first giving you an overview of the company, its history, business structure, and its current standings. This section of the Avon review will cover all such basic information.
Avon is one of the largest direct selling companies of beauty products with over $8 billion in annual sales, at the time of this writing (11/11). In addition to cosmetics, Avon Products, Inc. also sells perfumes, toys, and other household goods. There are over 5 million representatives worldwide in over 140 countries. Avon's $100,000,000 Global Development and Research Center is the forefront of the "company's commitment to stay at the forefront of the beauty marketplace", according to their website.
Avon began in 1886 when its founder, Mr. David McConnell, a door-to-door salesman of books started including samples of perfumes he had created as "door openers" to entice women to buy his books. He found that women were more interested in his perfume samples than in his books. So the California Perfume Company was born and later changed to Avon in 1929.
Mister McConnell realized that selling perfume and cosmetics door-to-door was not only very effective, but it empowered domestic women with a means to earn extra income. Women were natural salespeople, McConnell realized, as they passionately shared their favorite products with their friends and family. His first "Avon Lady" was Mrs. P.F.E. Albee of Winchester, New Hampshire, who traveled far and wide to share their products and opportunity with many other women. That was the beginning of Avon's heritage of empowering women by offering financial and professional opportunities at a time when there was none available.
Avon has grown to become the leader in a multi-billion dollar beauty industry. Avon is the world's most recognizable beauty brand, they claim: "From leading the world in anti-aging skincare to cutting-edge concepts in color cosmetics, Avon constantly strives toward innovation in product technology, design, marketing and sales. Avon's product portfolio includes some of the most recognizable beauty brands in the world such as Avon Color, Anew, Skin-So-Soft, Avon Solutions, Advance Techniques, Avon Naturals and Avon Wellness."
Since 1999, the company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer is Andrea Jung, the "longest tenured female CEO among Fortune 500 companies", states Wikipedia. Avon uses door-to-door sales, brochure sales, workplace selling, and now eBrochures. "'But a critical constant of Avon’s global beauty business - in addition to the empowerment of women – is something that can never be replaced by the dot-com world. 'The relevance of direct selling has to do with what the consumer expects from service,' says Angie Rossi, Group Vice President, North America Sales. 'There will always be a space for relationship-based service to the consumer.'"
An Avon Review of How to Make Money
The best part of this Avon review is finding out exactly how you can make money from your Avon business. Here I will outline Avon's compensation plan and additional ways you can make money even if others are not interested in joining your business. Here we go!
While Avon continues to advance in sales, marketing, and technology to enable its salesforce to succeed, the fact remains that without hard work and dedication in the direct selling business you may never achievethe level of success you deserve. Frankly, without proper marketing training, you may limit your income potential by only selling to your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. Let me continue with this Avon review and I will show you exactly how you can make more money and sales with your new Avon business.
Being your own boss enables you to work as much or as little you want and your income is only limited by your selling efforts. You can become an Avon Independent Sales Representative for only $10. This minimal start-up will equip you with 10 brochures to start your sales campaign immediately. You can order additional catalogs, samples, and marketing materials when you sign up, too.
The Avon compensation plan includes various levels of commissions based on personal sales each campaign, up to 50%. You can also earn up to 12% commissions on your team's sales, a luxury car bonus, vacations, and more. Of course, your income is not guaranteed and is based on your personal and your team's performance. However, if you sell $10,000 worth of products in a year, your commission is guaranteed at 40% commissions, thereafter, no matter how much you sell. President's Council Members earn an average annual income of $50,o00 and Inner Circle Members earn up to $120,000 per year.
You can sign up with a personal sponsor or you can sign up online. After signing up you will be equipped with catalogs and your very own company reciprocated website with a back office where you can send out email campaigns, order samples to distribute, configure your website settings, manage your orders, send in order payments, and more. Not bad for such a low investment.
Like with most multilevel marketing businesses, however, you will naturally start selling to your "warm market" of close friends, family, and other acquaintances. But to reach a wider audience, it is in your best interest to learn all you can about internet marketing, affiliate marketing, Facebook/Twitter marketing, and more. While you are considering Avon as an additional source of income, what if you could make money even from those who are not interested in ordering your products or in joining your team?
Concluding This Avon Review
In concluding this Avon review, we can safely deduce that Avon is a good business opportunity that sells high quality, celebrity-endorsed, brand recognizable beauty products. But that all of that has little to do with whether YOU will be successful or not. While it’s obviously beneficial to be a part of a strong, supportive company, what really determines whether you will succeed or not is your ability to sell products consistently and your ability to recruit people in order to build a solid team. The only way to accomplish those three things is determined by your ability to market. If you do not know anything about marketing, you will have a hard time building your business.
It is vital to your success to get proper marketing training so you can brand yourself and generate an endless flow of quality leads for your Avon business. No other Avon review will tell you this sales secret. Of course, you can build your business strictly using traditional, offline techniques, but for the average person, getting started, calling on your existing warm market will only take you so far. If you can combine effective offline strategies with the ability to generate 10-30+ leads a day online, there’s no telling how successful you can be with your business.
BONUS: To thank you for reading my entire Avon review, I would like to grant you access to my library of Marketing Training Webinars that will show you how you can generate endless leads for your Avon business. I would also like to conclude this Avon review by getting you started with your very own Attraction Marketing System that will help you establish additional income streams.
