Three tips to succeed in network marketing

Many people sign up with a network marketing company believing that they will be successful by simply investing in the initial kit that is required to start. They believe they will somehow make money without investing any time, money or effort into it. Soon, they realize this is not true, and they become frustrated and eventually quit, saying that you can never make money in these types of business; that they are all a fraud. 

Well, in the years I’ve invested in network marketing, I’ve seen that many people are very successful building their business in this style. What we need to do is follow their example, research to see what things they have done to get to the place they are now, and then duplicate their efforts. By committing to do what a successful person in our network company has done, we will become successful as well.  

I’d like to give you three tips, which I have learned over the years: 

1. Love the products.  

Network marketing is all about recommending products that have affected our life positively in some way. If we do not use the products, how can we recommend them? If we don’t use them on a consistent basis, we can’t expect others to do the same. Network Marketing isn’t just a direct sales company, where it doesn’t matter whether you use the products or not; it is rather a way of life. We purchase the products, use them, and then we recommend them to others like we would a good movie or a good restaurant. We invite people to find a way to purchase these products at a discounted price, and at the same time earn money as they do it, and that is how we build our business. We build our business because then these people will duplicate our efforts, start using the products on a regular basis, and then recommend them to others, teaching them how they can earn money as they do it, if they are interested.  

2. Invest money in the products.

 We are not called to make a huge financial investment every month in this business. In fact, we don’t even have to stock up on products to sell. People can purchase from the online store we are given a link to when we sign up with the company and headquarters will take care of all the shipping and handling and get the product to our customer’s door. Our only investment is in products that benefit us, our family, on a monthly basis.  

3. Educate yourself. 

If we want a high-paying job, we are expected to have a degree in the area, or else we will not be hired. To get this degree, we usually need to take out a student loan, and then we attend class, purchase and read the required books, write papers, and then eventually after 4-8 years, we get our degree.  

In network marketing we are not required to have a degree, but to do well we do need to educate ourselves. We need to take advantage of all the training materials that our company offers like videos, brochures and pamphlets. We need to see what books successful distributors recommend, and then we need to purchase them and spend time reading them. We need to look into going to the training opportunities that our company puts on and attend so we can learn more. Think of it as Continued Education Credits for a degree you were needed for a high-paying job. The more we invest our time and money in training ourselves, the more successful we will be.  

In network marketing we will not just automatically be successful, just like we can’t automatically expect success when we start an offline business. However, we will most definitely be successful if we follow the tips I mentioned. We need to love the products, invest in them on a regular basis, and we need to find ways to educate ourselves as much as possible.
