When you are first starting out in MLM, after you go through your warm market, the next step is to go to the cold market and generate qualified MLM leads. When you first start marketing either online or offline, you may be happy in the beginning with any lead but overtime you will learn that qualified MLM leads are the easiest to convert and will produce the most.
One common way to get leads is to purchase leads and I have done this myself many times. I can tell you though, the qualityis horrible and you have to be willing to work your way through very large numbers. Plus, often, lead companies recycle leads and sell the same list to many people.
You will soon discover that the best qualified MLM leads are leads you generate yourself.
There are two very good reasons to generate your own leads.
1. You can build a relationship with the lead easier.
2. The lead is not being bombarded with calls and emails from others.
There are basically two methods to generate your own qualified MLM leads.
1. Content marketing
Both of these methods have an upside and downside.
First let’s talk about content marketing. There is absolutely no doubt, content marketing will produce the best qualified MLM leads. With content marketing, you make a video, article, Podcast, or some other piece of content that people can enjoy, solve his/her problem, etc. and they choose of their own free will to opt-in to your subscriber list. Basically, you are building a relationship with the lead.
It does not get any better than that!
The downsidethough is this method is slow. It takes time and effort to develop a good content marketing strategy and the leads come slowly as well.
To sum up content marketing, you get the best qualified MLM leads but it is slow and requires a lot of effort.
The other strategy to generate your own qualified MLM leads is through advertising
What is great about advertising is the effect is also immediate. You can setup an ad campaign quickly and the leads will come quite fast. Overall, the quality of the leads are good but not great.
They are good because they were attracted to whatever you are offering but they do not have a relationship with you like they would if they engaged in your content. I would rate these to be good qualified MLM leads but not the best.
The big downside of advertising (note I advertise all the time so it is still worth it) is that the leads stop once you stop paying for the ad. With content marketing, the content stays online forever and can continue to bring you leads.
Now that you understand how to get qualified MLM leads, you may want to consider what you are offering people.
