Is Network Marketing a Dying Industry?
Like it or not the MLM industry is not going anywhere. It really doesn’t matter if you hate the whole concept, have had a bad experience, or don’t know anything about the industry at all. It will continue to hum along with or without you.
Like any industry it has its pros and cons. Pros : It is responsible for more rags to riches stories than any other industry and Cons: because anyone can join that’s at least 18 years old and pay to join you get anyone who is 18 years of age or older that can pay to join.
Personally I love the industry. It allows anyone the opportunity to own their own business without the typical costs of running a traditional business like staff, product development, distribution, etc. Instead, with very little training a brand new person could literally change their bottom line. I have watched several individuals with little or no education become literal millionaires because they chose to work hard to get to the top.
The network marketing industry is respected by such greats as Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, and Warren Buffett. In fact having a home based business in and of itself offers many benefits:
For starters, you as the home-based business owner get to write off business expenses such as a portion of your mortgage or rent, mileage on your car, equipment, business seminars, phone bills, cable, internet, utilities, etc. There is also the benefit of self development. I can’t tell you how much the network marketing industry helped me become a better communicator, more organized, and more goal oriented.
The key is to find a company that has great leadership, great products, money in the bank to pay distributors, a game plan for global expansion, and an opportunity to be first out the gate with sharing the opportunity with the masses. Put all of those components together and you have a winner!
Although there are many companies that start everyday, you should look for a company that has these qualities and stick with that company through thick and thin. By doing this, you can almost be assured that you will make legacy money. You know: the kind of money where your grandkids are set! Of course you have to work hard, but hey, anything worth having is working hard for.
Multi-Level marketing, direct sales, or network marketing: whatever you choose to call it, is not going anywhere. While it may become more regulated to weed out the creeps, it is certainly an option for those who don’t mind working hard and like the thought of choosing their own destiny and writing their own paycheck.

Network Marketing Success
You are right Tracie...it is not going anywhere so we all need to just get used to it. It's a great industry and is getting better every single day.
Thanks Tracie
Very insightful article. Thanks again :)
More Importantly Than It Being A Good Industry Or Bad Industry
More importantly you have work twice as hard on yourself as you do in your business. There is an old saying that to make more you have to become more. You are going to have to become the person whom people would like to go on a 30 day month cruise with.
There is an unspoken rule that if they feel that you are not the person whom they would like to spend time with, all the knowledge in the world means nothing. People do not care if your president is a family man. He works with you and they only relate to the person who gave the presentation nobody else.
Lawrence Bergfeld
On the contrary...
this is the decade of Network Marketing ... when it will start to replace traditional distribution for that is proving to be unviable.
Doug Wead (US Presidential Historian and NYT Bestselling Author) strongly recommends every networker to read this book on the future ... http://arriveatsuccess.info
