Overcoming Holiday Stress and Income Generating
Article first posted at Ezinearticles
It is a known fact that people are under great stress before, and during the holidays.
Much of this is caused by the pressure of shopping for gifts, and the impact on the family budget.
Sometime it's the in-laws coming for Christmas.
But normally it's that growing credit card debt. This is more true today than ever with so many people either unemployed, or underemployed. Some people are working three jobs to just stay above water.
The stress shows up in many ways...
1) You and your spouse fight more...
2) You or your spouse becomes depressed..
3) Everything bothers you or your spouse..
4) You or your spouse have more headaches
This stress can affect your health, so find a way to relieve it.
You can avoid or minimize the stress if you set spending limits on gift buying, and don't increase your credit card debt. Otherwise your depression will continue into 2010, and beyond.
The economy isn't going to get better soon, and more people will lose their job. If you don't have a Plan B, then you'll be dealing with more than stress.
Let me get back to minimizing this Holiday's stress.
Sit down with your spouse and talk about what is causing the stress, and agree on working to avoid things that cause it. Determine how much you can afford to spend on gifts (remember you do have to buy food for your Christmas meal), and agree on a budget.
If you can't afford to get your kids what they want for Christmas this year, let the older kids know. Small kids just want toys from Santa, but limit it to one, plus some piece of clothing. Again within your budget.
Tell your older kids how much you can afford to spend on them this year, and ask them to give you ideas of what Santa can bring them with that amount.
The next step is to join an online shopping portal, if you don't have one that gives you money back. Look for one where you have great saving, and you get money back. A dollar saved is a dollar earned...is a very true saying.
Other shopping portals can save you money on Medical expenses, groceries & household goods, eating out, movie tickets, and more. You can even get $300 in Gift Certificates for $43. All these savings can be used to pay off your credit card debt.
So avoid or minimize this year's holiday stress...buy smart, and get rid of credit card debt forever.
