The Good, The Bad, The Ugly - Multi-Level Marketing, Housing & Unemployment
For Many, The Great Depression was an event referenced in textbooks -- History. Unless one was of a certain age during the time line of The Great Depression, 1929 – 1940, they were unable to relate to, or even remember it; that is until now; until we entered this period of economic challenge which seems to have stepped out of our history books and embedded itself in our present.
The worst economic crisis since The Great Depression!
According to Bloomberg.com as of Sep 5, 2009, “The latest numbers brought total jobs lost since the recession began in December 2007 to 6.9 million, and the housing foreclosures have hit a staggering 18.7m.” The recession is taking its toll and one would be hard pressed to find a family that has not been adversely impacted.
However, in the midst of this tragic situation, there is a shining beacon of hope that cannot be ignored.
Former president Bill Clinton says, “… it strengthens our country and our economy.”
America’s Business Philosopher Jim Rohn, says, “It's taking the place of franchising, which now requires too much capital for the average person.”
Tax Expert Sandy Botkin, says, “… it results in tax savings of $3,000 to $9,000 dollars per year.”
Entrepreneur and Author Robert T. Kiyosaki, says, “… gives people the opportunity to acquire great wealth.”
Author and Motivational Speaker Brian Tracy, says, “… it will be one of the most respected business methods in the world.”
What are they all talking about? Multi Level Marketing, Network Marketing, MLMs; it doesn’t matter which of these terms are used. What matters is that it’s a business that has exploded in the face of economic adversity and has provided hope, restored faith, and leveled a playing field made uneven by the steady weakening of our economy.
According to IDC, (International Data Corp.), a top national research firm, there are between 34.3 million and 36.6 million home office households in the United States alone.
Professionals who were previously uninterested in this business have gained a renewed interest and respect for it. It doesn’t require a large start-up capital. It allows maximum flexibility of time. It has the potential to provide income significantly greater than that which can been earned by the average person working in corporate America.
Other advantages include;
· Earning residual income (no more trading time for money)
· Enjoying the security of being your own boss (climbing out of the 9 to 5 box)
· Having the satisfaction of helping others (when your down-line succeeds, you succeed)
However, with all good things, there are always pitfalls and care must be taken to avoid them. There will always be those who will don sheep’s clothing and attempt to exploit and take advantage people and situations. So, make sure you are educated. Do your research. Visit websites. Click every link. Read the policies and procedures. Make sure you understand your compensation plan. Most importantly, do not be afraid to ask for help.
