Network Marketing Business and a $15,000 Piece of Exercise Equipment - What Do They Have in Common?

Read More: Marketing

There is a piece of exercise equipment that costs close to $15,000 to purchase but it promises you that you can get a complete workout in only four minutes a day. The first time that I saw this advertisement, I, like almost everybody in the World, was skeptical and looked at this as another great scam.

As I read the marketing material, my scam antenna began to go down and I thought that this might actually be something that would work.

First, I ordered a CD, and I was expecting that somebody would follow up with a phone call to pitch me on this great piece of equipment. However, the website for the ROM specifically stated that they will not waste your time or theirs on follow up phone calls because - EACH PERSON MUST SELL THEMSELVES ON THIS EQUIPMENT.

What does this have to do with your Network Marketing Business?

Having people join your business is exactly like having people purchase the ROM. There is nothing that you can do to sell somebody on your business. If you do sell somebody, he or she will probably quit soon after they start. Here is the best way to grow your business -

Expose people to the Marketing Information for your Business - This may mean send them to a website or it may mean putting them on a call with somebody who is there to answer their questions.

If you simply expose them to this information, then the people who are looking for what you are offering will convince themselves that your opportunity is for them.

The people who do not see your opportunity as a match for them at that time will not get into the business. The Network Marketing Business, like the $15,000 piece of exercise equipment, is that simple.

Great read

Hey Justin,

Nice article.  I've been thinking on those same lines.  You have to convince someone to join then their heart isn't in it and they'll probably never do much or quit altogether.  Keep the great articles coming my friend!
