 Making serious money in your home business comes down to the power of your sales funnel. A good sales funnel will promote you as a leader, lead with low-cost educational (funded proposal) products, and grow your primary down-line over time. It is referred to as a “funnel” because it actually weeds out uninterested or unqualified prospects. This leaves you with only the most quality prospects that, if done correctly, will be ready and willing to buy whatever opportunity you put in front of them.

 

The sales funnel starts with your lead capture page. This page should promote YOU, not your primary business opportunity. The right kind of people will be much more interested and ready to buy from you if you promote yourself. If this seems complicated or difficult, don’t worry. You will start by leading a large audience of targeted prospects to your lead capture page. Since we are talking about the sales funnel and not traffic sources, we will not get into  the specifics of that just now. There are plenty of traffic sources and marketing resources to make this possible, available in the link at the end of this article.

 

From this point it becomes a numbers game. A good capture page will convert between 10 and 40%. So, if we put our lead pages in front of 100 people and it converts at 10%, we can expect 10 leads. A lead is simply a person who is curious enough to give you their name and contact information. They are giving you permission to send them information about your offer, or offers.

 

The trick now is to build a relationship with this person via email. Your auto-responder can be set up to send months of emails to build this relationship effortlessly. Again, information about setting up a killer auto responder will be available at the end of this article.

 

As time goes by, your audience will get smaller and smaller, constantly weeding out the uninterested and unqualified. The desired end result is to leave you with pre-qualified and willing prospects for your business. Over time you can widen your funnel to get more quality distributors. 

 

Hint: Lead with a funded proposal product. This will allow you to earn money from the hordes of prospects you bring through your system that do NOT join your primary opportunity. It will further edify you as a leader and a solution to a problem, as well as cover the cost of your traffic source or marketing. 

 

The relationship is by far the most important part of a successful sales funnel. It becomes a constant transfer of valuable information for the opportunity to show them a product, a system or your primary business opportunity.

 

Remember, they have asked for information from YOU. This positions you as a leader and a solution to a problem. You can now begin to slowly market to them over time, and the sky is the limit on what you can offer them, or the amount of money you can make from this newly established relationship.
