No matter what, don't ever quit!

It never ceases to amaze me how quick the fire burns out for some people. One day ready to conquer the world and after a few weeks, or a month or two, some are already giving up on their dreams. If you are new in the business you have to go into your business with a commitment to yourself that you will give it 12-18 months minimum.

This business in not built overnight. The effort reward curve in this business is responsible for taking away the hopes and dreams of millions. It takes time for expedential growth to kick in. However; when it does I promise you it is worth every bit of the blood, sweat and tears. My good friend and business partner, Keith Halls always tells a great story about how he and his cousin started out in a certain business together.

After a year and a half he still had nothing to show for all of his efforts. Finally his cousin decided this wasn't worth the effort and decided to throw the towel in. Keith however was determined, and pushed forward and eventually became one of the biggest network marketers in history. He gives this analogy which I love; He said when he first started it was kind of like he and his cousin were the only ones sitting in a giant stadium. The rest of the stadium is completely empty and there were empty seats all around.

In time those seats started to fill up initially by his efforts, and the efforts of everyone he brought into the stadium. After some time the stadium started filling faster and faster, to the point where the stadium eventually filled up. (Several times I might add). Unfortunately for Keith's cousin, he didn't stay in his seat to watch the game. Sometime later they went back and calculated that seats value. Do you want to how much it would have been worth if Keith's cousin would have just stayed in his seat? $500,000 monthly!!!!

Ladies and Gentleman, if you have only been in this business for a week, a month or even six months I would advise you to sit back down and stay in your seats! Good things are yet to come.

I could count the numerous times where I know where most people would just throw their hands in the air and throw it all away.

Because I inantly know this rule, which I've ingrained in my head from numerous books and experience, that this article is spot on

Awesome Insight

There were times when I thought about throwing in the towel, but then my business friends reminded me why I started in the first place.

There's absolutely nothing like a great "WHY".  It will get you through anything.

One tip though: If something isn't working, try something else.  Don't keep with the same thing if it hasn't worked in the past.

Persistence

Thanks for your thoughts.   Persistence is part of any business.  Some call network marketing RELATIONSHIP marketing which grows over time.

Falilure is NOT an Option

Your thoughts are right-on!! MLM is not a get rich quick scenerio. Those who enter with that mind-set will quickly be gone. In most cases it's not even a "get rich in one year" scenerio. I'm sure we all have versions of your story. "...Mark worked his MLM business for 6 months without a single recruit. After 12 months, he had 6 people. After 18 months he had over 1000..." Start with your "why" and your committment. Know that failure is not an option. As Shane spoke about...if it's not working, don't just do it more..try it a different way instead...but never, never, never give up. The 97% of people who fail in this business do so because they quit. Of the 3% that remain, most do really well after a good 2-3 years of hard work. 2-3 years to firing your boss...not bad by my standards.
