Stay in the Cage (J.O.B.) or Build a Business Online
 
I’ve had two conversations over the past two weeks that were interesting. Both expressed the same concern: I don’t have time to build a business online right now. My unexpressed thought was, “if you don’t want to plan for your future retirement then ok. However, if you want to start thinking about and planning for the future – that is, what’s next and what you will do with your time, ability and resources and how you want to make a difference in your world, then you don’t have time NOT to build a business onlne!”
 
What I want to challenge people to consider is: What’s really important? –to you based on your life experience, abilities, resources, hopes and dreams. Today, during this “age of the entrepreneur” if someone really is interested in making a change in their life, I tell them, “simply choose what you want to do then do it”. Of course, when answering the what’s next question there is plenty to learn and you need to find a proven team to work with but deciding and then starting is the first step to fulfill your dreams to build a business online. You can do this!
 
When a good friend of mine recently retired at age 60, it became clear to me that I needed to move ahead with my personal pursuit of helping others focus on their next step.
My friend retired one month, was wandering around the next, then went back to his old position the third month! For months he talked about “retiring” then he goes right back! This was months ago and it made me realize how unprepared many are for what’s next! Of course, building a business online will be the answer for some but not all but at least ask and answer the questions so you can figure out what’s next for you.
 
This friend of over 25 years had a seed of desire in him but I didn’t even have time to water it before he was bored and had acted on his instincts to “go back to what he knew”.  He had been presented with the opportunity to be build a business online. But he was not serious enough to discuss it and think it through from beginning to end. So, he just went back into the cage.
 
Taking the time to do just a few things before making the leap can turn the key to get us out of the box (of a job) and keep us from returning! When someone is trying to figure out what’s next in their life or already knows they want to build a business online there are some simple steps to take to consider how serious or how committed one is to making the change. I include some of these at my blog: www.ChatWithJack.com
