Breast Cancer Diagnosis is Not a Death Sentence
In May of 2001 I received the news that I had breast cancer in the 2nd stage in my right breast, and that 3 lymph nodes were involved. This came after large tissue removal and pathology reports. I was informed by my medical oncologist that if I removed the breast and surrounding tissue, went on chemotherapy, I would have a 50/50 chance of survival. After leaving the doctors office that day, I told my husband I would go through with the suggested treatment but that I had a 100% ability to survive. “I am not planning to leave you”; I told him “because God and me, we can do anything!”
Thus I began my journey that could have been a very devastating one with a mind set that I was going to survive. By the end of May I had received a radical mastectomy, and also removed 23 lymph nodes. I started chemotherapy by June. The chemotherapy lasted until December of 2001 and left me with pains in every joint of my body, neuropathy and pain in my hands and feet, reduced functioning in my pancreas, sores from the front of my mouth through my alimentary canal, no hair anywhere; even eye lashes, blackened fingernails and toe nails, a strange, burnt completion, diabetes and very high cholesterol and triglycerides etc. The year 2002 was a blur because these conditions left me unable to function. I was a mess. Prior to finding the lump under my arm during breast examination, I had considered myself as being very healthy, and in 2 years after that diagnosis, my life was changed in a very devastating way.
It is now 2010 and I am very healthy, slim and vibrant. I spend a lot of time talking to women about steps I have taken to regain my health. Here are some of those critical issues:
1] Become acutely aware of you body and the changes it is going through. Do your breast examinations so you can find subtle changes before they become big changes. Consult with experts that will become your partners in surviving the challenge if you are diagnosed. Beware of practitioners that seem distant and uncaring. You need a team of cheerleaders who believe like you in the possibilities.
2] Keep your body’s pH in an alkaline range. I test my pH through the first urine in the morning. Acidity is something that kept my body off balance. To keep balance, I eat large quantities of fresh vegetables and some fruits and I drink large amounts of clean, alkaline water, lean fish and meat; 5 times per day in quantities no bigger than my fist. This helps my metabolism and never puts any strain on digestive tract.
3] Clean your colon. I put large amounts of fiber into my diet daily so as to encourage what I call "scrub, rinse delete".
4] Nutrition is vitally important. I make sure that I am getting good amounts of vitamins, trace minerals, digestive enzymes etc. I take some of these in liquid form so as to have good absorption.
5] Exercise gently. Yes you can have gain without pain. I exercise by walking and rebounding.
6] Recreation is vital. I use gardening as one of the ways in which I get in touch with my spirit. Gardening brings me a lot of joy. And when the weather permits, I am at the beach!
7] Keep your thoughts on positive outcomes. Don’t waste your creative energy on the things you cannot change. Focus on what you can. I believe that a positive mindset keeps me putting my energy into staying well. I can’t afford the luxury of a negative thought.
8] I believe that good nutrition, good absorption and excellent elimination of toxic waste and are the keys to supporting a strong immune system.
9] I believe that a strong immune system will help me stay healthy and vital for a long time to come.

Good Health - A Very Personal Journey
Good Health; A Very Personal Journey
In March of 2010 it will be 9 years since I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, had a radical mastectomy, and received 6 months of chemo therapy. I nearly lost my life because I did not know some very critical information about surviving this challenge. I am very happy to report that I am cancer free today, and I am enjoying the very best of health. That was no small feat since I developed diabetes, neuropathy, arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, boils, sores and severe pains all over my body in the process. I am very thankful that I have come into the knowledge of how to eliminate all of these degenerative conditions. I did this by educating myself on how my personal biology works, and taking the bold steps to regain my health by changing my lifestyle and supplying my unique body with what it needs to function in good health.
One year ago I started Hopie’s Juice Club with the help of my husband Michael, who has walked with me every step of the way: from illness back to health. My goal for the Juice Club is to educate so that others may find health, and support them, their families and friends in staying on that journey. Hence our motto: Educate, Duplicate, Perpetuate.
Hopie’s Juice Club is a membership organization providing Educational Forums, Radio Shows, Individual and group education. We provide the education free. Everyone who attends our meetings or supports us by buying our products, are considered our members. The networking and support that is provided here allow juice club members to find like minded, possibility thinkers with whom to share ideas and resources. We are happy to be able to provide this environment.
One of the critical issues that I learned during my recovery is that all diseases arise from cell degeneration, and cell degeneration arises from lack of proper nutrition and toxicity. We are often times baffled by how to get good nutrition and how to scrub, rinse and delete those things that internally and externally cause us distress. My journey to health includes being able to efficiently nourish myself and to recover quickly from internal and external stressors. I engage a mind/body/ spirit approach to solving this challenge, and thankfully it is working.
For my body I rely on eating and drinking foods that are harmonious with my nutritional type. I discovered these foods from studying my body over time, and journaling about what works and what did not work. I have discovered that using raw foods for at least 50% of my diet yielded very good results. Secondly, knowing my blood type and using mostly those things that are indicated as harmonious for my type, caused my weight to normalize and my gut to work very efficiently. Adding whole foods that were not genetically altered and are not grown in denatured soil, (SALBA seeds for example) kicked my diet up a notch. Drinking water with a pH of 9.5 helps me to control acidity, and helps to flush toxic waste from my body, efficiently. Though I juice fruits and vegetables at least 5 days per week for my am meals, lately I have added Juice Plus® capsules daily as a safety net to ensure that I am getting all I need to nourish my cells. This new practice has cause me to feel more confident that I am being supported at the cell level with good organic, plant based foods that are fortified with enzymes to ensure delivery. There is much clinical information available at my website that you will be able to access by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page, watching the video that is provided, reading the research and also hearing what experts are saying about Juice Plus®. You may also ask me question by writing a comment on the website or calling me at 786-337-5965. I am very happy to answer your questions.
Since Michael and I travel often, it is very helpful to take our SALBA seeds with us and we have the Juice Plus® capsules. Our 15 year old son is now on the Juice Plus® plan at no extra charge for his supplements. This is one of the values of getting involved in the supplement program with Juice Plus®. So if you think that this could help you achieve some of your nutritional goals or if you are looking for a business opportunity that that you can really feel good about, please contact me by calling 786-337-5965 or leave me a message on the website. I will get back to you promptly.
In the mean time you are invited to attend Hopie’s Juice Club Meetings, if you are in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Palm Beach areas.
