Are you SERIOUS??
Are you serious about building your home-based business? I am sure you gave a quick nod or a mental "YES" to that question. But, I want to challenge you to take your business to the next level and share the best secret or "must-do" technique that was ever revealed to me by one of the most successful Multi-Million Dollar Network Marketers of our time, Randy Schroeder, with a simple question...
Do you keep yourself accountable to your business on a daily basis?
Yes, I am sure you may use Facebook or Tweet about your business everyday. You may call your new leads (if you actually generate leads) as they enter your inbox. You may attempt to network with other networkers on sites like BetterNetworker.com. But what are you doing that actually holds you accountable to your business and ultimately your results on a daily basis.
Here is the one thing that will force you to be productive on a daily basis...
I keep a daily journal or to-do list that I use to govern myself on a daily basis. As a full-time Internet Based Business Entrepreneur, I am my own boss. Therefore, there is no one looking over my shoulder making sure that I produce on a daily basis.
This is critical because without some sort of system of personal accountability in place, it makes it easy for days, weeks, and even months to go by without producing. Everyone knows that no new production leads to no new money.
Every day before I begin working, I pick up a physical ink pen and write on my "to-do list" notepad all of the things I must do within my workday. This list typically includes things like:
- Touch base with new team members and new prospectsTouch base with new team members and new prospects
- Write and post new articlesWrite and post new articles
- Review website statistics to see where things can be improvedReview website statistics to see where things can be improved
- Add new content to websiteAdd new content to website
- Create new autoresponder emailsCreate new autoresponder emails
- And anything else specific that needs to be done to grow my businesses
Now, to be completely honest, of course there are days where I fail to do this and guess what?
Those are generally the days I spend surfing aimlessly around the Internet without any kind of focus and as a result have an unproductive day. And anything productive that was done, well there is just no record for it.
This may seem basic, but most of the time it is the basic things that are done on a consistent basis that deliver the most potent results.
I challenge you to dedicate a notebook to being your daily “to-do list” book. Everyday before you begin your day, write down those things you know you need to do that day and during the day as new things come to mind, add them to your list. At the end of the day, review that list to make sure you have accomplished everything you set out to do for the day. Also, write down anything you can think of that must be done tomorrow. When you begin work the next day, review what you did the day before, then write your new list for the day.
I guarantee that if you adapt this system of self-accountability and begin documenting what you do on a daily basis, you will see yourself becoming a more productive Entrepreneur and eventually you will begin to see daily successes follow.
This is the one thing you can do as a Self-Employed Home Business Entrepreneur, with no boss looking over your shoulder, that will keep you on task and most importantly, keep you producing on a daily basis.
I have had periods of time where I have fell short of this and the lack of results or growth immediately follow. Once you begin doing this, it will not take long for you to see the benefits. And once you begin doing this, you will not be able to work without this system of accountability working on your behalf. Plus, you need to know that you are being productive on a daily basis and your new system of accountability will be the proof of your personal production.
This is another form of your short-term goals leading to achieving your long-term goals
Holding yourself accountable pays off.
Another thing I can check of on my to-do list. ;)
Yours In Success,
Al Sims
