How to Stop Procrastination and Start Action
Procrastination has been the most critical factor in determining the happiness and success of many people. All Procrastination is, is the fear of taking on new tasks or embarking on new opportunities. As many of you have heard, the acronym "FEAR" stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. So, how do we stop procrastination and start the action that will produce those things we desire most out of life.
The first and most important in this process is to call procrastination what it really it is, and recognize that the only reason it exists is by your own doing. To be blunt, "its all in your mind." You need to change your thinking, believe in your abilities, and conquer those obstacles that present themselves to get you off course. You must focus on ensuring that you not allow the mind to control your actions, but that you control your mind by the actions you take.
Secondly, utilize the inspired thoughts and ideas that come to you on a daily basis. Call it "intuition", "feeling", "inner spirit", the important thing is to not just let them come and go without reacting to them. There are many people, myself included, that receive these thoughts and ideas but never react to them the way we should. I believe that they come to us for a specific reason, to act on them so that we do not remain stagnant and move forward toward those things we should.
Finally, demand from yourself that you take action. Take the action that will produce the result you are desiring have. Yes, for some, it is more easier said than done, but to stop the procrastination from taking up residence in your mind, you must start the action immediately, to counter the effect of procrastination. As long as you take consistent action, there is no room for procrastination to raise its ugly head.
If you allow procrastination to rule your life, you will not get to that place you are striving to get. Call it what is, listen to those inspired thoughts, and take the action that will lead you to your desired results. Procrastination cannot exist as long as consistent action ifs forever present.
