New Year’s Resolutions

Read More: Discipline

New Year’s Resolutions are a good idea, but very rarely actually work.

A New Year’s Resolution is something like goal setting done once a year. Only problem with it is that most people do not know how to set goals.

People will say they’re going to quit smoking, start exercising, spend more time with family, etc. But that’s all they usually do is SAY they’re going to do something.

Whatever your goals may be this coming year, think them over and write them down. They do not have to be big goals that will take years to accomplish. Start small with something you want to accomplish within the next week or month. Then build up to your bigger goals.

After you write down your goals, put them in a place that you’ll see them often, on your nightstand, your dresser, your desk, or kitchen table, and make sure you review them on a daily basis. Sit down with your goal list and think about how you’ll feel when you achieve these goals and make sure that you do something every day to help bring yourself closer to achieving them.

Once you’ve reached one of your goals, cross it off your list and celebrate it, even if it was one your small goals. And as you come up with new goals, add them to your list.

However big or small your goals may be, you can achieve them if you do this every day.

1. Think up some goals.

2. Write them down.

3. Review on a daily basis

4. Do something every day to bring yourself closer to achieving your goals.

5. Celebrate even the smallest of victories.

I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but maybe this time you’ll actually do it. This is not only the start of a New Year, but the start of a New Decade. Make it count, try something new, learn something new and help other people achieve their goals as well.

You can do it if you put your mind to it.
